“Perfetto!”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

The hotel Stella Alpina is a wonderful family run hotel located in a prime location in Sauze D'Oulx!
I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Caroline and her family and staff are so welcoming, going above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay!
The rooms were charming, food was amazing!- especially the Tiramisu!
Location couldn't be better- with the Clotes lift right in front of the hotel, you can wake up ( hire your skis next store at Eydallin sport- also fantastic service and equipment!) and go straight up the mountain for a days skiing and then ski right to the doorstep at the end of the day!
The hotel is a perfect option for families especially, it has a lovely cosy and warm feel, a great fun atmosphere without being too much! There are great bars and restaurants located very close by if you want to go out one evening too- I recommend Sugos for amazing homemade italian Pasta (located in the old and very picturesque part of the village!)
I have fallen in love with the hotel which may I add is also INSANE value for money! I didn't know a ski holiday could be as affordable but still very luxurious! I have visited the resorts of Courcheval and Verbier for example which can not only bankrupt you in a week but the skiing is just as good if not better really in Sauze!
Needless to say, I will be returning to the Stella and Sauze D'Oulx for many years to come!

we were part of a large party, caroline and her staff were to say the least ..first class, attentive, and great with the kids.the hotel is is homely, very clean, right infront of the travelator and slope, they own the ski shop nextdoor, and hired out good quality equiptment,at a fair price, they even recommended a ski instructor....the one we used was a great fella called ozzie, who got me back my skiing confidence, and is highly recommended..brilliant holiday, and would go back tomorrow.thanks.

Room Tip: some of the rooms have mountain views which were stunning

Cannot fault this hotel in any way! The location is probably the best for access to the magic carpet. It really is a family run hotel as it states and Caroline and her family and staff couldn't have been more welcoming to our large group during half term Feb 2014. She went out of her way to ensure that our stay was the best for everyone in our group. Some have commented on the food but i would disagree as you only have to ask and they will try to accommodate you.. If you don't ask then you don't get!!!!!
We would love to return some day as Sauze is a great ski resort !
Many thanks

We stayed in March for 1 week with Neilson (party of 10). The hotel itself is brilliant and the location really good not be better! The hotel is right at the bottom of the slopes with the shops and bars just around the corner. The owner of the hotel (Caroline) is very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. The rooms are basic but spacious and comfy. The only criticism I have was that the bedroom floors were not cleaned during the stay so towards the end of the week the floor was really dirty! The food was brilliant, most of us were really pleased with the quality and quantity. For the fussy eaters other options were available on request. We have already enquired about going back next year.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter and the views are lovely.

Thank you very much for taking time to write a review. I was very disappointed about the comment about the floors, I can assure you (or anyone reading this review) that the floors are swept and washed every single day (unless the guests don't want their room cleaned). If they hadn't been done all week you would have been able to plant potatoes in there by the end of your stay !! If you weren't happy about the cleaning I would have very much appreciated being told at the time rather than have it in written in a review later.

This is the third time I've stayed! As always the staff are excellent as are the rooms, restaurant, bar and ski shop. They couldn't be more accommodating! The location is the best in the resort! Certainly be back ASAP.

We stayed in this hotel in March 2013. We stayed for 1 week snowboarding with Neilson. We choose the half board.

The hotel deserves it's good reviews. The hotel room was a reasonable size and the bathroom was a good size too. The balcony we had was large and had a view of the ski slope and also a view of the mountains at the rear of the building.

The location of this hotel is perfect. It's at the chair lift which takes you up into the mountain and at opening times this chair lift is not busy. You can snow board all the way to the hotel. We sometimes choose to snowboard to the hotel at lunch time to have something to eat and then head back up the chair lift.

The half board meals are fantastic. All credit to the chef as the food was so tasty. There was a salad buffet and a choice of two options for the main meal.

We loved the resort for snowboarding. It is a 5 star resort for snowboarding.

We would definitely stay in this hotel again if we were returning to Sauze.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony

Hotel is literally at the base of the main home run, a few yards across the road. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Good food and service. Well recommended. Staff could not have been more helpful. Hope to return next year.
