As others have pointed out, this is an unusual hotel, in that it is situated in a large rectangular farm complex just outside of town. Inside, however, everything is refined and quiet; the rooms are spacious and clean, come with air-conditioning and wi-fi, and open onto a pleasant, grassy courtyard. Unfortunately, I showed up for breakfast just as a large tour-bus group was finishing (not a pretty sight), but was otherwise quite pleased with this hotel; and would recommend it especially to drivers (it's probably a little too far from the city center for those without their own wheels). And you'll definitely want to check Saluzzo itself out: not a lot of set-piece attractions, but uphill from the central square is a charming and well-preserved old town that is nice to stroll around.

we are pleased that you enjoyed our structure and we hope next time you will come there won't be any tour-bus in front of the breakfast room! ;) for what concerns the distance from the city centre, it's two minutes by car and ten-fifteen minutes walking (less than 1 km) but as you said, once you get in the Old Saluzzo, you see that it was worth it!

The accomodations were lovely. The rooms were large, clean and well decorated. Peaceful place and incredible breakfast - plentiful and delicious.

Wi-fi is promised in fine print to be accessible in the hallway (as opposed to the rooms) and my husband was told to lean out the window. His room did have a "funky" smell compared to our rooms near the reception area. Owners gave a mixed reception although the morning was much more welcoming and informative.

We used this as a one night stop on a longer trip. It was fine and wish I had more time to explore the area.

Thank you for taking time to write a review of our hotel and I'm sorry that your husband had a few problems.
Regarding WIFI I must say that generally in Italy the internet sistem is not the best in the world and we have an added problem due to the walls which are more than 50cm thick. Also probably to a language mistake it was not meant that your husband should have leant out of the window but only use his computer nearer to the window as the signal arrives from an antena placed in the inner courtyard which the window looks over. Many other guests have used the room occupied by your husband and have used the WIFI facility without problems.
This is the first time anyone has ever mentioned a "funky" smell and as I was informed about it I investigated it together with my cleaning ladies as even though we are a completely no smoking establisment sometimes guests do not always adhere to this and I was worried that this could have been the problem.
I am very pleased that you liked the area and I do hope you had the special experience you were hoping for in Torre Pelice.
Regards Jean Overton

This is an hotel, agriturismo and working farm, so expect to hear the geese and the horse from time to time! The hotel is a very peaceful place, with a lovely host and hostess (he is Italian, she is English). The rooms are simple but well furnished and the bathrooms are well-fitted with a range of toiletries. There is ample storage space and each room has a balcony which opens out above the inner courtyard. Breakfast is fantastic - a superb range of quality local ingredients - and the staff serve a great capuccino! The dog which has been mentioned by other guests is extremely friendly and seems to be in charge! There is ample parking on site, and Saluzzo is only a 10 minute walk away. I will certainly go back here.

Room Tip: I think they are all of a high standard

Thank you very much for your positive comments and I'm glad you had a lovely stay with us and I hope the rest of your tour in the Piedmont region was wonderful (the wine and good food in the Langhe area would have helped)!! Hope to see you again sometime - regards Jean, the furry boss Cuciolo, the noisy and waddling geese (Gwenda and Squeeks) not to mention all the staff.

Had a wonderful stay, and great service. We had to leave early in the morning so they set breakfast out for us. The food was amazing, and it was such a quiet and warm atmosphere. So glad we went to visit my italian roots home town. Definitely going back to stay again!

This was the second time in two years that I have stayed at this hotel - of course choosing to stay a second time because the first experience was good. The Antico Podere Propano is a lovely hotel which doubles as a farm (horse, geese), in a charming old building with rooms overlooking a large open courtyard. It is calm and relaxing with a discreet staff. Nice breakfasts. Very sweet dog that "runs" the place. A 10 minute walk to the center of Saluzzo which is by no means bothersome. The only thing that I would mention that is slightly negative is the price - for 98€ per night in April. The rooms, despite being spacious, are very basic - and as mentioned, the hotel is not in the center of Saluzzo, and you would not expect to pay so much. When I was there 2 years ago for a wedding in June, the room was 70€ per night (granted, I am assuming we got a group rate ). Anyway, all in all a good experience, however I might think twice about staying a third time at these prices. I would recommend this hotel for people who are looking for a calm stay.

We stayed four nights as part of a tour group and were very impressed.

The hotel is also a working farm and all rooms face on to a grassed courtyard - the daytime home of a gander and his geese, shepherded by a lovely german shepherd.

The rooms are generous and modern, although inkeeping with the country style. Bathrooms was lovely, as were the toiletries.

The breakfast buffet was extensive, fresh and frequently replenished.

It was a lovely place to return to after a long day exlporing the surrounds of Saluzzo.

Thank you for taking time to write about our hotel as we always find great pleasure in reading them. Unfortunately the gander passed away earlier this year and now we only have the 2 widowed geese roaming the courtyard always under the ever watchful eye of Cuciolo (the yard dog).

We stayed at the Antico Podere Propano for one night. On my reservation I requested a first floor room but when we arrived a second floor room was assigned to us. A change was made and we were happy with our room. The decor is tasteful, the rooms are comfortably large. This room looked out on the spacious courtyard.
We consulted the owner for a restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant was not good. I am including a review of the restaurant here:
The restaurant, Interno Due in Saluzzo, was recommended with enthusiasm by our hotel, Antico Podere Propano. Since we had an excellent experience with restaurants in this region we kept our appetite for dinner and, with anticipation, found this restaurant.
The food was horrible. My wife ordered Tagliolini al Fungi Porcini which was a small portion of noodle without sauce and contained two small pieces of tomato. She had to ask for parmesan cheese to add some taste to the otherwise tasteless noodles.
The meat she ordered was the Agnello al Forno and it was over cooked, dry and without juice.
My main dish was Tagliata and it was quit bad. The appetizer was a strudel which was actually good, but this was the only high point of the meal.
When we gave our credit card to pay for this almost entirely poor meal the waitress returned the card saying we can not use this card. However, when we went to the counter easily it went through. That was the finally of our experience at Interno Due.
Breakfast at the Antico Podere Propano was good with many choices.
Taking all into consideration, our stay at the Antico Podere Propano was very good and we recommend it.
