Reviewed 4 January 2013

We stayed here on our Theatrino tour (January to June 2012).
There was Wifi available.
Nice rooms.
A great selection for Breakfast.
Lunch was three courses!
Great location.
Some rooms had a lovely view of the beach.

We felt like we were pampering ourselves. It is a lovely hotel with some truly exquisite antiques in the lobby and in the stairway landings.

The rooms weren't quite as lavish, but they were well appointed with large cavernous bathrooms
Breakfast was good, but didn't have a huge selection
Multiple elevators
We were able to park right in front of the door

Our rooms all faced the sea (and thus, the street). The views were awesome, but so was the street noise. Scooters buzzing by till late and starting up again early. I left my window open for the sea breezes. That might have been a mistake...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was really lovely, balcony with fantastic sea views, air conditioning was very good. The bathroom was two rooms, toilet, bath and bidet in one room and two wash basins in the other. Plenty of space to put luggage etc. The hotel is a really wonderful old fashioned place to stay. Staff are very helpful and polite. A large car park is to the rear and a small one to the front. The breakfast was served in a lovely airy room with plenty to choose from. Not sure what people prefer from a four star but we would have liked bathrobes, slippers and coffee/tea making facilities. The charge of 7 euros for the pool was appalling especially when we didn't even know about it until we paid our bill!! If as someone pointed out below the charge was just for the towel then we would have used our own. Not good. Pool was lovely though and great as not many people used it. No kids at this time of year too.

Room Tip: Rooms directly on the front have full sun all day long. Ask to be shown the room first which we did...

From the outside this is a fine looking old building set in pleasant grounds that includes a swimming pool area. The room we stayed in was clean if a little basic, and the bathroom a decent enough size, although the shower did leak quite heavily creating a rather large bathroom puddle. Some of the rooms have great balconies, our's didn't so make sure you ask in advance. Breakfast was pretty standard stuff, in a light, airy and ornate room. This was a great destination to finish off the Milan to San Remo bike route, with a pool for a refreshing dip and a bike storage room on site. Londra is set back from the main road up a steep drive so it feels peaceful but there are bars and restaurants within a five minute walk. Overall the hotel's serene greenery and fading grandeur was really quite endearing.

Room Tip: Take one of the large balcony rooms with sea view

The hotel must have had its days in the past, though in the year 2011 it just felt old. We had a great view from our room which had an enormous bathroom and the hotel was just 2 minutes walk from the beach, but these few good things might not be enough to comfort yourself if you expect more from a 4-star hotel.

A very nice old-fashioned hotel, probably 4-stars when it was built some decades ago, that still deserves these stars for the service and the feeling of "grandeur" they offer. They have to make some serious restoration though, and reject silly practices of the past, like the charge of 7 Euro/person for the use of the pool (they say they just charge that money for the use of towels in the pool area, but ...it's ridiculous). The rooms are spacious, tall and very welcoming. The garden of the hotel is almost as nice as the well known municipal gardens of San Remo, and Villa Ormond, a former private property that now houses some of the San Remo Festival concerts every summer. The pool area is excellent, and the parking facilities in the garden can be almost adequate for all the guests of the hotel. The breakfast has excellent quality and quantity, and the behavior of the staff is excellent too (I read the customer reports dated back at 2004, and think they had an attitude problem at the time). We hope we stay again in that hotel, when we are around...
