“We enjoyed our stay.”

We're glad we stayed there! The room was good with a small kitchen and free TV. Nice view from the balcony. Good service. Elevator access. The pool was alright with an ice cream bar. The hotel is located high up on a hill and it takes 20 minutes to walk to San Remo and 10 minutes to the beaches. If you like to walk like us, it's no problem. But take a taxi to get to the hotel the first time, otherwise it is quite complicated to find it. Ask the staff for tips on what to do in San Remo, they are very helpful. We ate once at the restaurant and it was great food. The breakfast was ok, nothing special.

We stayed at this hotel in July 2012.
I know previous reviewers have complained about the road, yes its bumpy(caused by tree roots) but its not really a problem, just take it slow.

The hotel staff are very friendly, we arrived when Italy were playing a major football game, (they lost!) but were made very welcome in the restaurant and sat on the terrace, whilst the Italians watched the game. Food is very nice and prices reasonable. Staff at reception very helpful & speak good English. Breakfast is ok, a buffet style.
Swimming pool very nice , it gets a little busy at peak times.
The hotel has a minibus which if you reserve will take you down into San - Remo and collect you later, (great if you want a beer or two).
Our room was clean and even had a small kitchen area, with nice balcony at the front of the hotel, looking down over San-Remo, towards the sea.
Lots to see and explore but you`ll need a car if you want to go further afield than San Remo.

Travel down the coast road to find some nice little towns for restaurants & bars. (I have stayed in Italy a few times, I tend to drive from the UK, so hotels just out of the main town are no problem as we have the car to get around).
You can also catch a train from San - Remo station to Mote-Carlo.

If we visit the area again I would happily re-visit La Rosa dei Venti
Would definitely recommend this hotel, its a good hotel with reasonable prices & friendly staff.

Room Tip: Front of the hotel are best views, (above pool/reception)

I stayed at La Rosa dei Venti in May 2012 and my entire experience was positive from start to finish. The staff at the front desk were always smiling and willing to answer any questions we had, the cleaning staff were friendly and accommodating and the hotel was close enough to all the action, while tucked away to avoid all the noise. Unfortunately, the pool wasn't opened yet because it wasn't warm enough, but it looks lovely and I hope to be able to go next time. Overall great hotel!

Room Tip: Try to get one with a view of the sea
