Well I'm here under slightly false pretences. The Villa Piani is in a brilliant location but we actually stayed in its sister residence the Villa Livia. Details of both properties can be found on the villa Piani website which you will find under residence villa piani dot com.
We rented apartment number 7 which is on the top floor and has a balcony. The property has some rental accommodation and some residential. It is kept immaculately clean. 2 sunbeds and a parasol come as part of the apartment package along with a key to work the private shower to remove the sand before returning to the villa. The villa is clean, spacious and very well equipped with everything you need for a self catering stay.
The villa is literally right on the beach on a quiet sidestreet just a two minute walk to the town centre. Apartment 7 is the most expensive of the apartments to rent at the villa but the balcony makes a huge difference and is well worth the extra money. Elena who looks after both properties is English speaking and very helpful.
The tide never seemed to go out or in, although the strip of sand in front of the villa was narrow-ish it never changed it size.
The town was a little quiet for our taste but we were there during the last two weeks of September so things were winding down for the end of the season.
We would definitely go back there.
