The location is such that the sun shines there longer than to the center of the village. There is about 60m ascent from the village.
All the rooms have magnificient views to mountains.

We (three couples) stayed in a large apartment with 4 bedrooms, large living room and kitchen. It was perfect for us with 3 bathrooms. The room was spotlessly clean.

Santa Cristina is clearly smaller village than Selva and Ortisei with less restaurants. Good bus connections to other villages, free with bus ticket provided by the hotel.

Our family (my wife, 9 year old son and I) enjoyed our stay at Residence Sovara very much. Our appartment nr 3 was recently renovated, very clean and had all amenities you could think of: a well equipped kitchen, state of the art bathroom (with floor heating), super beds and in addition a very spacious terrace. You'll have to accept the traditional style of decoration ;-) The location of the residence is perfect, as it is on the hillside, away from the traffic lanes and outside of the buzzier holiday hubs like Wolkenstein and St Ulrich. Nevertheless, good connections to all hotspots and must do's in the region and the village center of St Christina is on walking distance from the residence - there you can find all you need (shops, restaurants, ...). Looking at the ski facilities (storage, pre-heated lockers, garage, technical room ...) I can imagine that coming for the winter season must also be a blizz. The owner and team were very friendly - Sybille helped us with suggestions of daytrips and hiking trails and her wine cellar proved to have some very bottles as well ;-) In all, worth every penny spent and definitely an address I would recommend.

Room tip: Our appartment nr 3 was recently renovated and was matching all criteria.

We stayed a week at Residence Solvara for a Dolomites ski holiday. To start with pros: the residence has two perfect heated garages with electric doors, which is very convenient when traveling by car. The ski and changing room is the best ever experienced. Special brand new storage units with blow dryers for shoes, gloves and helmets. Ski bus stops at just 75 meters from the residence every half hour in the morning and brings you to the start of the Saslong (St. Cristina) in just 10 minutes. The view from our apartment (south side) over the Gardena valley is breathtaking. The apartment itself was cosy and provided two separate sleeping rooms and two bathrooms, own private entrance and sunny balcony. Morning bread service is nice, every morning at 07.30 hours. The cons: as many of the apartments are booked a year in advance by regular guests, don't expect to get the best suite as shown in the management pictures. The furniture in our apartment was just basic and lacked chairs to relax. We took the foldable balcony chairs in, to have a seat. Beds in one of the two rooms were both 1.90 meters (!) long, with wooden boards at the end of the beds. One of our family members hardly fitted in and could not stretch his legs. Two showers were perfect, but one turned cold in case of multi use. Furthermore, if you present yourself as a wellness residence, why keep the (all included) sauna closed on Wednesday and Friday (full day) and every other day after 19.30 hours? So a nice after diner or (early) morning sauna is no option. Fast and reliable Wifi in the apartment would have been appreciated. To conclude: in the four star league and at a price range of over EUR 220 per night during winter season, one may expect more.

Thank you for the compliments you gave us but also for critical that we take as an opportunity for improvement. Your three-room apartment (which will be renewed in spring 2017) has a 4-seater sofa and a table with bench and a chair, where there can comfortably sit other 4 people.
You booked through Booking.com and we hade no a direct contact with you. So we was not able to know your personal necessity, as in this case a bed 2 meters long. Unfortunately in Val Gardena is the signal of wifi not very strong and sometimes it is possible that it´s not so fast. The free sauna is available to our guests on specific days and times, but to offer our guests more freedom, we offer the possibility to book it privately on other days at any time . We think that the apartments are booked from year to year is a compliment and a confirmation that our work and our apartments are appreciated. We will be happy to have you as our guest again.

I've stayed at Residence Sovara several times, and each time has been perfect. The place itself is beautiful, well furnished, with comfortable beds and state of the art bathrooms. The views of the mountains are amazing as well and the residence is a stone throw's away from the ski bus stop - perfect if you want to go skiing without moving your car! Speaking of cars: there is free parking included in the residence's garage, which is also very nice.

The skiroom is brand new, very large and equipped with boot warmers, ski racks and lockers.

If you need anything, from information to suggestions, the owner is very nice and will help you with everything.

The apartments are very nice: we stayed in both a larger one and a studio and loved them both. The kitchen has everything you need and, if you forgot to buy drinks for dinner, you can do so at the reception at a very reasonable price.
I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a clean and beautiful place for a vacation in the Dolomites!

Quite new, well kept, great sauna area, good wifi, bread service every day with nice bread (!), free parking in a garage, nice owner and staff.
We stayed there in winter, had a lovely balcony that we used to dry clothes :-) In summer the balcony is of more use.
All in all a very nice stay - we'll be back!
