“Best of both worlds close to Sorrento centre for Bed and Breakfast”

We found the hotel through the British Airways holiday site which meant we had to arrange our own transfers. Having arrived too late to get the local bus, we contacted the hotel to help us arrange a private transfer from the airport which was 90 euros for one way. Hugely overpriced but that's taxis in Italy! Prior to us even arriving we were in contact with the hotel as we requested a nice room overlooking the bay for my birthday. While we weren't guaranteed this, the hotel promised to do their best to accommodate our request - which was honoured at check in. The staff were superb and literally everyone from Reception to the maids to the waiting staff at breakfast and during the day to the lifeguards around the pool were really friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough to look after us.

We had a room on the 4th floor (418) which had superb views of Vesuvius but no balcony. Rooms are all quite small but are spotlessly clean with a 4 piece bathroom set. Towels were initially very strange - just linen but were amazingly effective. We also asked for additional pillows which were provided. There is a fridge in the room too which was great for keeping water cool and the aircon was also free. There is also a free safe in the room too. Wifi in the hotel is free and pretty quick. it works better the closer you are to Reception and you had to keep logging back in but no problem really! The fantastic sun terraces on floors 4 and 5 are great ways to view the bay.

The pool was a little chilly when we first arrived but soon warmed up by early July. i can honestly say it was the cleanest pool I have EVER been in. There were plenty of sun-loungers all day but it did get a little busier in the afternoons but there were always the sun terraces if there were no free loungers directly by the pool. Both terraces had showers and got the breeze too. Each pool tile was visible from the 5th floor! The lifeguards are great at keeping the whole area clean and tidy and we were delighted that no glass is allowed around the pool area too!

Breakfast had a good selection from continental foods to fresh croissants as well as bacon, scrambled egg and beans. Some people also requested omelettes and fried eggs but this wasn't advertised. Good bread, cake and cereal selections. There was rarely fresh fruit available but this wasn't a major issue. Coffee and English breakfast tea was also great!!

We found Sant'Agnello to be a lovely quiet residential district of Sorrento with a good variety of locals amenities, especially for lunch. We used the complimentary shuttle bus most days to go into Sorrento in the evening but it is also a 20 minute stroll into Sorrento town centre. The bus is great, frequent and on time with lovely drivers and always a cheery welcome! It also collects from a sister hotel nearby so booking is essential.

Hotel Caravel and Sant'Agnello is the perfect location to explore Sorrento and the Amalfi coast with a local train station and bus stop to destinations such as Pompeii, Herculaneum and also Naples.

We really can't thank the staff enough for such a fantastic stay - keep up the good work, we promised to highly recommend you all and here it is! Superb!

Room Tip: something on the back of the hotel is advisable as it is quieter but some rooms are without a balcon...

We visited this hotel last month. We booked for 6 nights but changed our plans and the hotel staff were so helpful in finding us a room even though the hotel was full. The hotel Manager and staff could not do enough for us they were fantastic. The room was clean and we had a lovely outlook over the pool. The food was very good with buffet breakfast and waiter service in the evening. The waiters were so friendly and helpful. All in all we had a wonderful 9 nights at this hotel but what made it for us was the staff. Would definitely like to return sometime in the future. Anyone thinking of going, you will have a lovely time.

I visited the hotel with my parents as part of a trip to celebrate my 30th birthday. My parents visited this hotel years previously. The triple room we got initially was too small to accommodate 3 people with the aesthetics very poor. At our request we were moved to a gorgeous, spacious triple room with a beautiful balcony and aspect. Overall my parents reported that it had become a little run down since their previous visit in terms of the gardens etc. However, I felt it was immaculately maintained, beautiful breakfasts (fresh fruit and orange juice would have been a nice addition to a continental breakfast). Our waiter Raphael deserves a particular mention. The swimming poor was beautifully maintained- clean, deep and multiple sun loungers.

Unfortunately my father became ill during the trip. However, it was during this time that the hotel and all its staff were so accommodating. They allowed us to remain in the same room as my dad was unable to move, the provided us with unlimited use of the phone to contact our insurance company, called for medical assistance promptly and were EXTREMELY helpful and reassuring, particularly Caramelo. I could not speak highly enough of all staff. In all, this is a beautiful, clean hotel, extremely helpful staff from the receptionist to the waiters, lifeguard and cleaning staff. It is ideally located to explore Sorrento. There is a free shuttle bus that brings you into the heart of Sorrento which is a major bonus. I would definitely visit here again, either with my family or partner.

Room Tip: Room with a view of the pool (rooms on the corner) The higher floors have views of Vesuvius and the...

Hi, my wife and I stayed here for 11 nights on half-board basis.it is a very charming hotel, well looked after and relaxing.the staff are excellent and the food is very good, it has a nice pool which is kept clean and there are two rooftop terraces to relax on.the surrounding area is also good and the hotel is just a 5 min walk from the coastal headland which has some beautiful views.there is a shuttle bus into sorrento on a regular basis but we often walked into town and it takes approx 15-20 mins.sorrento is a beautiful place to visit or stay and there are some very elegant hotels there set in nice gardens, there is lots to see in town and it has a port there to take trips to capri and along the coast, it also has a nice little fishing harbour that retains its old charm with fishermen plying there trade.

Stayed here with mum and sister 21-28 June 2014.
Hotel is immaculate and spacious and we were given a very warm welcome. We had a lovely triple room which was very clean, roomy and had air conditioning. The breakfast in the morning was very varied and the evening meals were excellent. Our waiter Antonio was most helpful and all the staff in the hotel were very pleasant and Nunzio who worked at the poolside was lovely to chat to. Would love to go back to Sorrento and stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel from 20th to 30th June. We found the staff in this hotel to be extremely helpful. They could not do enough for you. We stayed in room 108 which was a superior room over looking the pool. The room was spacious and had a large balcony which was great. We stayed on a B&B basis and found the breakfasts to be good. There is a good variety and something for everyone. Never had dinner in the hotel as we went into Sorrento most nights.
The hotel while a little out of town was a good base for exploring the area. The train was just 10min walk away where you can go to Pompeii, Naples or into Sorrento town. We used the hotel bus most evenings or just walked in.
Special thanks to Mike and team in reception who we found to be most helpful. Would def go back to the hotel Caravel.
