“Great view, nice rooms.”
Reviewed 26 May 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for 2 nights recently and it was lovely. The view from our 5th floor balcony was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. Getting the bus to town was easy as asking. The breakfast was standard, and good. As I noticed in all the hotels we stayed in while visiting Italy beds are hard and the walls thin, but hey nothing ear plugs or wine can't cure. We would stay here again.

A very nice hotel, run by an Italian family. Splendid location on a hill with a beautifull view over the bay of Naples and the city of Sorrento.
From most of the rooms you van also see the Vesuvio.
All the rooms are different of size and view.
There is a private pool and sunterrace on teh 6th. Floor, where you can enjoy drinks or a very well, prepared lunch.
The service is friendly, thanks to a staff that does hardly change.
Book your room with half- pension so you can enjoy dinner on teh outside terrace to see the sun go down..

Room Tip: Personally I would suggest one of the 4 rooms on the 5th, floor, with a large private terrace

My family and I stayed at this hotel the week before Easter. Before my review I should be honest and tell you we were supposed to stay at Villa Oriana which was 50 meters up the road. However they had a plumbing issue with one of the rooms and rather than split our group up they put us up at this hotel. They are well aware of our experience at this hotel, but please check out my review of that hotel if you haven't seen it yet. We were promised sea view rooms and when we arrived I was taken to a single inside room that looked through a glass window across a hallway with a window to the balcony of the rooms next to me! I was quickly moved to another room that had a view, but very low scale mismatched furniture with doors missing on the a'moire, but at least I saw the bay. My family each had double rooms that had lovely views, but within an hour a horrible sewer smell drifted into their rooms and they too had to be moved! They did get moved promptly and had lovely views. We were in rooms 501.502,&503 and each night there were scrapping noises like a chair being slid across the floor. However their are no rooms above us! When we inquired at the front desk the lady simply said it is not possible! The hotel does share its space with a residence on the upper floor above the 5th. The staff knew nothing of the history of their hotel which is carved into rock. It would have been nice to know something about it.The staff clearly don't enjoy their jobs. It is very difficult to get to the city if you miss the hotel shuttle at 9:30 in the morning as the next one is 3 hours later and a taxi will cost you 20-25 euros for a 10 minute drive. The food is continental style breakfast....a push button Nestle machine makes your Italian espresso! The waiters were feeding the seagulls on the balcony and when we asked for something we were told to get it ourselves. I would never have guessed this was a 4 star hotel as it runs like a 2 star at best....the view is all it is worth and for that you can go visit its lobby for free!

Room Tip: Don't choose 5th floor

First of all, you changed your rooms only because you were disappointed that Villa Oriana splitted you out and tried to give us as more trouble as possible, howewer we had no responsabilities.
The hotel does NOT share any space with any residence.
I will not loose more time to answer to the other ridicolous things you have written.
You should stay home.

We struck lucky with Hotel Cristina - the amazing views across the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius were matched by the friendly relaxed service and great food. Our family room was a bit tight (4 of us) but the balcony view and the large bathroom more than made up for it. Francesco, one of the waiters, made us particularly welcome and we felt very well looked after by everyone in the hotel.
We didn't need to hire a car as we could walk into lovely Sorrento to mooch about or shop or eat, and to catch trains, buses or boats for the Amalfi coast, Vesuvius, Pompeii and Herculaneum (Sant'Agnello train station is even closer). We enjoyed the walk to Sorrento but it is along a mainish road (with a pavement), takes about 20 mins and yes its a bit steep for the last bit of the return, but no issue for us or our children (11 and 13) and included a stop at a Gelato bar! There is of course a free hotel shuttle service.
Would highly recommend this hotel and we hope to return!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony and view across Bay of Naples

If you have ever had a vision of what a hotel would be like in Sorrento, you will be most pleased staying at this hotel, with all balconies, overlooking the Bay of Naples, with Mt, Vesuvius in the distance.

It is easily within walking distance to the shops, etc. in Sorrento.

Utterly breathtaking views all around and excellent staff.

Would definitely stay there again, since it is so centrally located to Capri and Positano.

Stayed here for several days while rendezvousong with friends who needed to have parking available for their rental car. It is quite a hike up from the main street but the view of the Bay was spectacular.
We were there at the end of the summer, but the pool area looked inviting. Breakfasts were excellent and all staff were very helpful and a commodating. Cabs here are very expensive (20 Euros for a ride of 1.5 km!!!) so it is not in the most convenient location but our room and view made up for it.

Room Tip: Make sure to have a balcony room overlooking the water.

sorry for this delayed report,we stayed at Hotel Christina in July. This was a first class hotel, with rooms looking over the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The hotel was a couple of miles outside of Sorrento, in the place of Sant Agnello. There was free bus service 3/4 times daily into
Sorrento from the hotel, which was excellent, because the Hotel was on a steep hill. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The food was excellent and we ate every day on the balcony ,and
with me being a coeliac the gluten free choices were first class and the staff were very helpful.
For visiting places like Pompeii and Herculaneum ,use the free bus from the hotel to Sorrento
railway station, take the local train to Naples, stops at Pompeii and Herculaneum.Very cheap, but can be busy. Sorrento was a lovey place, with plenty of eating places and narrow streets with
lovely shops.
