I stayed there for a week with my family. It was a great week the hotel manager and his staff are doing more than we expect to make our holiday perfect. The service that we got was the best.
Highly recomend.

Have just returned and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. What I enjoyed most was the tranquil feel to the surrounding area where the hotel is situated. La Pace is a mere 8-10 minute walk from the Sant Angnello main road amongst a small village, lemon trees and olive groves. The hotel has a very good reliable bus service to downtown Sorrento which is excellent however we did enjoy the walk which can talk around half an hour. The main road into Sorrento is noisy, congested and generally chaotic and would have dreaded to stay in one of the hotels along here so La Pace, although outside of Sorrento offers a very relaxing stay but yet a small journey to the sights.

Hotel room was very spacious, great view over the pool and coast towards Vesuvius and Napoli. Breakfast was good, typical continental and well stocked. Always room and plenty of tables with excellent waiter service.

Loved it and would like to return one day.

Stayed here for 5 nights and found a great place to stay. Hotel was lovely with lots of little extras. We did end up in a back room without a view but for what we paid it was great. If you can afford it then do pay for an upgrade to front room, but who spends a lot of time in your room when there are nice places to sit and loads of places to explore. We did have a car which helped in getting around but the shuttle bus down into Sorrento was very good. We had half board and the food was delicious and I am a good cook so I know what I am talking about. Anyone who slates the food on here must like burger and chips and thinks you go abroad to eat as you might here in the UK. It was good quality and different options every night. The staff are very attentive without being intrusive, I would highly recommend and hope we can go back soon.

We have traveled for many years and have two teenagers, ages 17 and 21. This is a quiet, elegant, sophisticated hotel which your teenagers will love! It's our first day here (8/10/13) and the Grand Hotel La Pace is just that...Grand!!!!! Outside of the reception area, where the staff can be a little cold, everything about this hotel is amazing. The first thing you are in awe of is the gorgeous and lavish lobby which has free wi-fi. The pool also has free wi-fi and the vistas from the pool surrounded by mountains and the homes embedded in the cliffs makes you speechless - it's beautiful. Our teenagers loved it. One of the lovely features about this hotel is that it attracts an international crowd from different European countries. This really made us adore this hotel. Rooms( we have a quad with 4 single beds) are spacious and the air conditioning is wonderful. Sorrento is a short 10 minutes away with the free coach bus shuttle offered. In Sorrento, pick up the free shuttle in the bus parking lot at Center Via Correale, a short few minutes from the Circumvensia train station. Hope this helps and as this is our first day, we may write more soon.

Room Tip: We are from New York and the hotel is paradise plus! The one thing I wanted to add were the free sh...

We recently stayed at this hotel as part of our tour of Italy. Upon arrival, we were very impressed with the entrance and lobby. The common areas of the hotel were beautifully decorated and all seemed well. As we entered our room, we were greeted with a very unusual smell. We concluded that it was due to the humidity and the fabric covered walls that are throughout the hotel hallways and guest rooms. Looking into the bathroom, we saw an ant crawling along the counter. Our first impression of the room was not good. Our room overlooked the pool and had an outdoor patio. When we opened the patio door, we found that we were not alone in the room. There were hundreds of ants lurking around the door. This was enough to visit the front desk and ask for a different room. We were told that housekeeping would be coming to spray the ants. After 20 minutes or so, we again went to the front desk. The ants were now multiplying and crawling all over the room. We lifted our luggage up onto the furniture to keep the creepy crawlers from our personal belongings. Again, we were told that housekeeping was on the way. When the nice woman from housekeeping did arrive, she sprayed and made a phone call. After a few moments of conversation in Italian, and the person on the line speaking to my husband, we were told that we would be moved to a new room. Thank goodness for the housekeeper! What ever she said, and the help of our tour director, got us moved. When we met up with the other members of our group, there were a couple of others who also had ants and were being moved or having their rooms sprayed too. Our new room was ant free, but still had the awful smell. Please see the attached picture of our shower---cleanliness was not a strong feature of either of the rooms we were in. The rooms themselves were fine, but definitely outdated and very yellow. The pool was nice, but the umbrellas were tattered and there was a hole in the decking, covered by a small, plastic table, as a warning. Roosters crowing in the AM and an odor of manure, are also true (as others have written). It is a shame that a hotel with a magnificent view and some very helpful workers, especially the gentleman at the front desk in the very early morning hours and the nice housekeeping woman, can't complete the whole experience as a 4-5 star hotel. It was not a great way to end our 2 week tour of Italy.

Room Tip: Even some of our friends had rooms higher up than the ground floor and had ants. Definitely opt for...

Lovely place, nice atmosphere, good value for the money. Coming here with the family in July we were very nice surprised by the staff starting from the reception, cleaning, bar, restaurant. We had half board and the food was excelent, Complimenti allo chef. I have to mention the restaurant team, maitre Rino, and his collegues Giussepe, Giovanni, Tonnino and I am sorry I can't remember all the names. It was a lovely holiday and I hope one day we will return here,

La Pace ~meaning the hotel of peace. This was exactly what this hotel offers. The minute you walk into the impressive lobby you know this is going to be a great place to holiday in glorious Italy. Staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Away from beautiful but busy Sorrento but near enough if you want shops/cafe's and bars ~the hotel shuttle bus takes you in several times a day should this be what you're after.

The hotel is of a traditional Italian design/decoration with the bedroom furniture containing the impressive Sorrento inlaid wood. King size comfy beds and bathroom containing bath and shower. The sea view room was amazing and totally relaxing ~enjoying a glass of wine or a coffee on the balcony and enjoying the view of the glittering Bay of Naples or Vesuvius.

Snack bar/pool area very comfortable with freshly laundered towels on offer every day for use on the sunbeds. Similarly room cleaned everyday (properly) fresh towels daily and you returned to a cool air conditioned room. The cleaning lady does not speak English but loves it if you smile and say Bonjourno to her.
Breakfast was wonderful ~ we visited to celebrate my hubby's 50th birthday and he was thrilled with having a champagne breakfast everyday. Buffet style but with every kind of breakfast you could wish for. Freshly cooked omlettes and panackes while you waited/English style breakfast available (with local meats) fresh fruit daily, yoghurts, freshly baked bread and pastries all served with a smile. Tea and coffee (the coffee has got room to improve ~ it’s not Lavazza ) however that was minor as everything else was brill.

People mention the WiFI in nearly every review and for someone who at home is an FB/Twiiter addict I cannot for the life on me think why this would be important when you are on holiday in beautiful Italy. On the 3 or so occasions I used it to speak to my children there was no problem~ what is quite sad is to see people permanently attached to their phones/ipads etc ignoring their family when they have the chance to spend quality time with each other. So what I say is forget the WiFi and opt for time with those you hold dear, enjoy balcony seaviews, trips to the village or Sorrento or take a train ride to Pompeii ~ far more interesting!!

The hotel is situated at the top of two hillside walks into Sant Agnello.
If you take the turn signposted To Napoli -then a wonderful little Pizzeria and Bar awaits you with homebaked pizza with every concieveable topping for 5 Euros . At the bottom of the main hill walking past the farmacia you will come across the family run Restaurant Donna Rosa ~ also well worth a visit if you are into traditional Italian dishes.

Finally make sure you visit the seafront and watch the sunset over Capri ~ it’s breathtaking. Peaceful La Pace we will be back ~ you are worth every 5 of the stars you have.

Room Tip: Seaview room with balcony a must.
