My family and I found the Majestic Palace Hotel to be everything that we could possibly need or want. First and foremost, Giuseppe, the concierge was amazing. We had a difficult experience with the people that ran the trip to Capri and he made sure that we were fully reimbursed. And quickly! The rooms were very comfortable and Giuseppe made sure our requests for location of our rooms were respected. The morning buffet was amazing, as well as the dinner fare. The pool was very enjoyable at the end of a long day of touristing! We only wish it could have been opened a little later than 7pm. Our only complaint is the showers in the bathrooms. They were kind of awkward in how they were situated, but that might be a European thing. We would totally recommend this facility to any of our friends and return there in the future.

Stayed in the majestic last week in June and first in July. If it wasn't for the staff and the meals it would have been 14 days too many. The hotel needs a make over big time. Our room had holes in walls and plaster coming off walls. Bathroom was 2 star at best. The hotel does not even have a ramp or decent access when you arrive. You have to haul your cases up a stair to get in. The surrounding area is dingy with poor footpaths and roads. If you get a chance to go there, don't.

Stayed here with two other couples.Room was very spacious, although we did have a superior room. The room was very clean and cleaned daily. There is a rooftop sun area and a massive garden at the back with tables, hammocks etc. The pool area is very good and we had no problems getting sunbeds - there are also areas in the shade. waiters are very attentive, but the drinks are quite expensive. There ar plenty of seperate areas in the hotel to relax. The meals we had were god, although we ate out most of the time. Breakfasts were self service and always hot, one tip though - they stop serving bang on time.
If you turn left out of the hotel there are many restaurants along the road and a great view at the end, The shops are right out of the hotel, up the street and turn left - turn right at the top of the street and it takes about half an hour to walk to Sorrento. You do take your life in your hands walking along the pavements. The railway station is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel and the trains to Pompei are very good value
Overall we had a good stay and i would reccomend a trip to Positano

Room Tip: Seems like all superior rooms are on the ground floor

We returned home on 7th July and had a lovely week. Hotel is very clean, rooms very comfortable and the garden and pool are a delight- awash with beautiful flowers. All the staff were very helpful and always smiling. Our only gripe was with the food which seemed to us to be Italian food for English people, there was usually a good choice, though on the two nights we went down after 8 in the evening the buffet choices were poor. Gala dinner was a roast pork dinner, which was 2 slices of pork with gravy a few roast potatoes and peas- very much like a school dinner. We have holidayed in Italy before, in Thomson small & friendly hotels and the pasta dishes came with lovely light sauces and there were lots of lovely regional Italian dishes. On several nights at the Majestic I struggled to find something I wanted to eat. The hotel and it's staff cannot be faulted but the food was so disappointing.

Staff at the hotel was amazing! Any time we had questions about day trips or where to find things in the area the staff was extremely helpful. They helped us to set up multiple day trips throughout our stay. When one of our day trips went sour (the driver of our boat had an accident with another boat and had to cut the trip short) the manager called the company as soon as they heard and resolved the situation. Giuseppe (the day manager) was particularly pleasant to deal with. Before our trip I had been in email contact with him multiple times and always received a quick response. We had a minimal understanding of Italian and the staff is very well spoken in English.

The only possible downside was that it was a walk into Sorrento from the hotel (about 1.5 miles) but we easily could have taken the train for cheap, fast transport. Lots of restaurants in the area however so the only reason to walk into town was for shopping.

Room Tip: We emailed the hotel directly and requested rooms with a view, preferably next door to each other, t...

My wife and I stayed for two week returning at the weekend and had a an enjoyable and relaxing time The staff couldn't have been more helpful or kind and really made our holiday. The food was good although the choice at breakfast never changed and towards the end of our stay being at bit boring.

Welcome meeting- our meeting was taken by a representative who was leaving the next day and lasted around 15 minutes and generally only covered the range of trips they could offer and failed to mention some pertinent details about the hotel e.g. towels could be hired from the hotel for use at the poolside, there was a lockable safe deposit box in your room etc.

Reception :- Always very helpful with a special thanks to Giuseppe

Room Tip: The hotel has 4 upper floors and ground floor rooms which are actually basement rooms. We were allocated one of these rooms which has no external window with on only a small terrace with 2 chairs. The door to the terrace did not close properly and the room was very basic. We raised the matter with the local Thomson representative and was advised that if we want to upgrade the cost would be 20 euros per day. When booking your holiday make sure that you stipulate your exact requirements to prevent any disappointment. Prior to arriving at the hotel we were not aware of an possible upgrading room charges.

Good points:- The evening meal was a la cart and to a good standard however the menu of our second week, we preferred to our first. A special thanks to Vincenzo the head waiter. A nice pool area it would be good if there were with a few more sun beds there were some umbrellas at the pool side as the sun gets strong.

The hotel which was built in 1967 has a beautiful facade is a 25 minute walk to the centre of Sorrento. We enjoyed our walks in the evening as it gave us a chance to walk our dinner. But beware of the local drivers!

In summary a good hotel which I would certainly recommend.

We had a familyroom on -1. The room itself was ok and big enough.
But the bathroom was terrible: the showercabine could hardly open because of all the mould and dirt in it. Out of the jacuzzi also came a lot of dirt. Also the rest of the bathroom wasn't really clean. Towels were changed everyday , but no cleaning. Never saw this before in a 4 star hotel.
We made a complain at the reception, but nothing change. As compensation we got a free diner.
This in big contrast wit the rest of the service: staff very friendly, good meals, delicious snacks and cocktails.
Free Wifi, but didn't work very well.
