“Lovely Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2012

A friend and I had a lovely week here in July2012,The hotel was really peaceful and relaxing and away from the busy centre of Sorrento (approx half hour level walk). The hotel decor isn't the most up to date but this adds to the traditional Italian atmosphere.View from terrace lovely,Pool area really peaceful usually only 6-8 guests around the pool and plenty of sunbeds. The food, both poolside snacks and breakfast, were good and freshly cooked to order.
The hotel can organise for several restaurants in Sorrento to send a free taxi to pick you up and return you at the end of the evening meal.We thought this may have been just to expensive places but this wasn't the case and we would recommend this.
The absolute best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are all really friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them.A special mention for Giuseppe who manned the desk at night he is such a nice guy! I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Room Tip: 102 has large terrace and side sea view

We were originally booked into the Villa Oriana Relais. Someone overbooked the room and we were told that we couldn't stay there. Not a good start...But the alternative offered was the Villa Garden in S'Angelo.
The Villa Garden turned out to be excellent. Lovely room with a side view of the water.
The staff were really helpful.Breakfast was good and served in the restaurant with a view of Naples and Vesuvius.
The pool area is great and the location fantastic. It is right on the water with a private area overlooking the sea where you can have a drink and watch the sunset.
Loved it.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Garden for 10 days in early July 2012. It was our second visit to this hotel and we chose it again because we knew what we were getting …… a small, clean, comfortable, quiet hotel with a lovely pool area and extremely pleasant and helpful staff. In our view it offers excellent value for money.
We booked a Junior Suite which has spectacular views over the bay of Naples. The breakfast room also has beautiful views over the bay and watching the boats criss-crossing the the bay to and from Capri whilst having breakfast will remain in our memories for ever. Breakfast is beautifully presented and everything is spotlessly clean. The hotel suits us to the ground and we love it. Being objective and for the benefit of prospective guests, I offer the following observations:
the bed was firm (fine for me) as were the pillows; the bathroom has a large corner jacuzzi bath with a hand held shower. It seemed such a waste, personally I would have preferred a nice big walk in shower but we knew what we were getting when we booked; the sanitary ware in our room is starting to look a little “tired” and the water flow from the taps in the sink was sluggish. However, everything worked and there was always plenty of hot water; the safe in the room is locked using a key which is easily replicated, but we had no problems or qualms about leaving valuables in it. Most hotels now provide safes with personalised electronic coded access; breakfast was virtually the same every day with only minor variations to the “cake” and fresh fruit salad served. A tasty cooked breakfast is provided but the menu mainly consists of eggs; and Sorrento is about a 20 min walk away or a few minutes on the bus (if they are running!).
Having said all that, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a warm, inviting, charming hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento.
Ciao

We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of july in the heat wave on a tour of Italy. It was a lovely hotel, the staff were great, the rooms were fine and the pool was never too busy and very welcoming. A plus is the breakfast, freshly cooked eggs each morning and the most wonderful bacon started the day off to a treat. Local restaurants are fine and not too expensive. The walk to Sorrento is busy and noisy but just use the train instead. Would recommend this 100%

Room Tip: #101 has a large balcony on the side and you can see the sea......through the trees

Room #105 has a lovely balcony with gorgeous sea views. Nice to be a little out of town. Very limited TV channels; helpful, friendly staff (Stefania was terrific). Breakfasts uninspired. Beds quite comfortable for Italy (they're usually so hard!)

First of all, we have very much appreciated the location. Villa Garden is located in Sant'Agnello, about 25-30min walking to Sorrento centre. This village is less touristy and has very beautiful mansions.

The hotel has just a few rooms and is very cozy. Decoration was classic but nice. Staff was very friendly. The swimming pool is big and there lots of sun-chairs for all guests. The garden was clean and properly maintained.

Probably, breakfast was the weaker feature. Although views are beautiful, there is not so much variety. In a 4 star hotel, one would expect a larger choice of, for example, fruit, cereals or cheese.

Internet service is poor as well. As you need to pay for a voucher, you can only use one device at a time. Nowadays, with smartphones and tablets, this is something that just doesn't work. It would be more comfortable if the hotel charged plus 5€ per room.

Villa Garden is a refined boutique hotel located in the Peninsula of Sorrento, on a rocky spur directly above the sea. Today this is the ideal place for relaxing and romantic stays, to discover Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast and other gems of this blessed land.
