Do yourself a favor - stay in Sorrento! We researched a lot before selecting this hotel and wish we had not. The views may be nice but do yourself a favor and save the trouble of getting to this hotel. The buses are not reliable and the staff is not friendly. The clerk insisted on keeping our passports when she took us to our room. We've encountered this before but never from someone so rude. The room was clean but there was a very strong smell of sewer coming from the bathroom. We tried to fill the bidet thinking perhaps the trap was dry but the smell continued. While we were there they lost power and there as a lot of construction noise. We regret this hotel more than any other in years of travel. The walk from Sorrento isn't bad but there is just no reason to stay in this remote location when there are many nicer closer hotels. While the construction and location aren't their fault the rude staff can and should be fixed. The clerk should consider how she'd feel if an American took her passport so rudely.

Room Tip: Stay in SORRENTO - not here!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your opinion on Tripadvisor, we always appreciate our guest's feedback.

We apologize if some inconvenience happened during your stay.

To improve we need to know, please, the time of your arrival here or the name of the employee who was at the desk, at your arrival.

It happens, not often, that road construction noises or strong smells can come from outside our hotel, which happen against our will. About 3 weeks ago the administration of Sant'Agnello had to make roadworks due to an electrical problem, we apologize for this but really it not depends on us.

Anyway we hope you can change your mind and come back to Villa Garden, we will do our best to make your stay enjoyable

Best regards
Gabriella Gargiulo

We stayed at the Villa Garden from 5/23/14 - 5/26/14 for the last leg of our trip, and it truly was like saving the best for last. We arrived a bit before our room was ready, so we enjoyed a cocktail on the terrace and enjoyed the stunning views of the Bay of Naples. Our room was ready in an hour (and much earlier than regular check in I presume) with our luggage already in the room.

Very friendly staff ready and willing to assist with anything you may need. They made dinner reservations for us and verified the pickup time of a tour we had booked.

We had a side sea view room with a huge balcony. The room (and the entire hotel) was beautifully decorated, clean, and smelled of lemons (very fitting for Sorrento!)

We didn't have a chance to enjoy the pool, but we did walk out to it. The area is lovely.

Every bit of this hotel is excellent!

Beautiful hotel in a fabulous position just out of Sorrento, which was a delightful 20 minute walk which was recommended by my friend. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Paulo. Breakfast was excellent. We would highly recommend this hotel and would visit again.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view

The title (if Google translate has got it right) means "heart achingly beautiful" in Italian. And in English that's exactly what this small hotel is.
Everything about it is beautiful; it's position almost on the cliff edge with a row of small tables where you can take your aperitvo before setting off into Sorrento for your evening meal. You watch the sun actually go down on the inky sea; just like in the poetry, as you watch the lights in Naples come on across the bay.
The garden and pool are delightful and breakfast is copious and served to you by friendly attentive staff who have the time and the inclination to chat.
The rooms are pleasantly appointed and while not suited to a protracted stay - over winter say - because most of them are compact, they make very comfortable accommodation for a week or two's holiday.
Probably the best part of the hotel is the simple, professional charm of the staff; all, without exception, pleasant and prepared to go that extra little distance to help with any request or query.
This is described as a boutique hotel and that is fair as it is everything non-boutique hotels aren't. If you are looking for a hotel with a unique position, that's well appointed and clearly much loved by its family owners then this is the place for you. If you like Holiday Inns and similar big resort hotels I'm afraid there's not much here for you.
Handily placed for getting into Sorrento - which is a delight in itself - and for trips to Vesuvius, Herculaneum and the Amalfi coast. If you holiday here I am certain you will come away with many pleasant memories which will stay with you for a long time.

Room Tip: Try to get the front balcony rooms if you like that extra little bit of space; some of the other rooms could strike as a little on the small side.

We wanted to select an hotel which gave us a little luxury for a week to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and the Villa Garden seemed ideal. We were absolutely delighted with our choice!

On arrival we were welcomed by Gabriela and knew we had made the perfect choice. Everything about the hotel and location was explained in detail and all our questions were answered clearly and in perfect English. Our room was ready two hours ahead of schedule.

Our room was spacious and had a wonderful view across the Bay of Naples from the small balcony. It was spotless, light and perfect for the week.

Breakfast is served in the conservatory with equally impressive views. It is mostly self service with hot food being cooked to order. For us, there was as much choice as we had expected and everything was fresh and tasty.

In the evening it is wonderful to sit on the hotel terrace with a bottle of wine, watching the sun set over the bay.

Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.

The walk into Sorrento takes approx 25 minutes along roads filled with the aroma of orange and lemon groves, roses and herbs. Sorrento is a busy but attractive town with a good selection of restaurants to cater for all tastes. If you do not want to go all the way into Sorrento, there is a good selection of restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk.

We would thoroughly recommend the Villa Garden if you want a touch of luxury in a small, hotel with friendly, welcoming staff. We would not hesitate to stay there again. A perfect holiday!

Room Tip: Room 205 (ours) or 105 will give you a balcony with an unforgettable view across the Bay of Naples.
