“Great small and friendly hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Hotel Londra is about 20 mins walk from Sorrento, 5 mins from an incredible sea view of the Bay of Naples. The staff could not be more helpful, it was like staying with family. Lovely small pool -always sunbeds available after a day sightseeing and often had the pool to ourselves. Hotel is clean and breakfast fresh ...including local oranges. Handy for visiting Amalfi coast, Vesuvius and Pompei. Would definitely go back. Some traffic noise at night but it is on a main road so that was expected.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking pool are away from road.

Located 10min walk from Marinella beach, longer to town centre (15/20 mins) but we didn't mind the walk. Basic room , but clean and tidy, friendly staff, pool small but fine for a dip, worth extra for aircon and wifi. Good hotel to use as a base for seeing the Amalfi coast.

Hotel was very clean, room was a nice size, small TV, which had bbc world. breakfast was nice, the coffee is the main breakfast let down (vending machine style)
We often walked up to the main street in sant'Agnello & found Bar Tourist which done a very nice cappuccino & breakfast pastries.
Nice view from the roof terrace which is large & has chairs & tables. Pool is clean & plenty of sunbeds
Staff are a credit to the hotel.

Bar man has some frozen beer glasses perfect on a hot day.
No Hot water one afternoon went to reception, was fixed in minutes.
We stayed B & B. Sorrento which is a steady 15minutes walk away has a huge choice of restaurants, we eat somewhere different each night.

Noise - Sorrento is manic with traffic which would affect most hotels, if this is a major worry there are some hotels up in the Sorrento hills that have free shuttle busses into town.

Just returned from a 6 night stay at this hotel.
Overall we enjoyed our time here, location was good, very clean and mostly friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was adequate if a bit repetitive.
On the downside, it was very noisy at night, due to thin walls and times floors echoing footsteps throughout the night. After the third night of very little sleep (due mainly to some very noisy American girls who had little regard for their fellow guests by arriving in from partying at 3am and talking very loudly and clip clopping in their high heels), I asked Reception if we could be moved to another room. The manager (who can be quite direct!) Kindly offered us a room on the second floor which was much quieter (although much warmer!). You will have to pay quite a lot if you want air conditioning during a stay here.
Apart from these issues we enjoyed our stay here and its a good base if you want to visit Pompeii, Capri, Amalfi, Vesuvius etc. Also a very pleasant pool area.

Stayed a week at this hotel which is in a suburb of Sorrento. We were concerned at some of the previous negative reviews but having now been we would say most of them are wildly exaggerated or simply untrue.

Our room was basic but spacious with a balcony, the bathroom was smallish and the shower was smaller than I am used to but worked fine. I am a 6ft 16st man and I easily fitted in the shower - unless you are severely obese you will not have a problem.

The room was cleaned every day and new towels provided - not the fluffy towels I have at home but some Italian type towel which are more like sheets but do the job

The decor is dated and tired but the hotel is clean and functional

The pool is small and shallow with a few free sundowners available - it was never very busy and if you wanted a lounger there was always one avaiable

Snacks lunches and drinks were always available at the poolside cafe area

We were at the noisy side of the hotel which borders the busy Road and you could always hear a scooter day or night. We did not find this too disturbing so long as the windows were closed and in particular we found closing the corridor window before we went to our room made a huge difference. The corridor is very echo prone and most guests seem to like banging their doors shut - some damping on doors would help

All the staff were excellent and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant

We were half board and we found the evening meals basic and prepared to a cheap price with variable quality but all perfectly edible

The hotel is about 1km from the spare in Sorrento and is on the local bus route so very easy to either walk or hope on the frequent if sporadic buses. Taxi fares are highway robbery at up to 19 euros for the 1km into town

There is not much in the way of choice for bars or restaurants near the hotel but there are several very close by some with stunning views

In summary a good clean budget hotel with excellent staff not perfect but value for money
