The hotel is on the outskirts of Sorrento, just a 20 minute walk into away which suited us better than the hustle and bustle of Sorrento. The room was on a corner on the third floor so looked out over both the Bay of Naples out to Ischia and the garden, both of which were lovely. However, if you're a light sleeper this may not be the room for you- every time a car drove over a manhole cover in the road outside, it woke my husband up, but it didn't bother me at all. The restaurant/breakfast room had spectacular views over to Vesuvius and the self service breakfast buffet was a fantastic start to the day. All the staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The Restaurant/cafe over the road from the hotel was great for soaking up the delights of the bay of Naples-sitting drinking capuccinos on the terrace looking out to vesuvius was great. Sant Agnello train station was a 20 minute walk in the opposite direction-very easy to get to Pompei and Herculaneum. We took a boat over to capri but rather a rough crossing! Overall, would recommend the hotle and it's location-just lovely

This hotel is just a little out of the bustle of the city but I preferred that. It is very nicely finished with friendly staff. Breakfast was very acceptable with good quality food. The room was adequete, with the tiniest shower you have ever seen. We are slim people but if you are medium sized or bigger - good luck! The views from our room (you must book the sea facing room) were outstanding over the bay of Naples and across to Capri. A spectacular fireworks display outside our balcony each night was wonderful, over the water! A tip - take sea sick tablets when catching the ferry to Capri - I was so sick I couldn't go to the Blue Grotto - which was my main aim for coming to the South of Italy!

I could not have been more pleased with our stay at Hotel Mediterraneo and with Sant'Agnello as well. We were a group of 8 friends who were renting a villa very nearby, so wanted to organize ourselves the day before. The hotel was perfect for that. It gave us a day to acclimate ourselves to Sant'Agnello, which proved to be a charming town with much to offer: good cafes, great bakery, excellent restaurants, and even a supermarket in addition to wonderful specialty shops. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Francesco. The rooms were lovely, with great views, fine pool & bar, access to beach and great bkft, at a very reasonable price. We were amazed by their elevator to the beach area-never experienced that!

we stayed for 7 nights (22nd-28th October 2010) Hotel, very clean, pay extra for seaview first class. Top floor restaurant execellent views of bay and imposing Mount Vesuvius, food very good. All staff friendly and very welcoming, we paid for private taxi (airport transfer) 200euro pricey but worth it as it takes all the hassle off finding bus routes. Conciege Aniello Somma very helpful and was clearly a positive for the the Hotel he will advise and book all trips. Hotel was a good walk from Sorrento centre only real draw back, informed about 3/4 of mile away. Bus stop opposite Hotel can get tickets from recpetion charged 2.20 euros one way p.person over the week can become expensive.
Used public train service to travel to Pompei and Herculaneum only 12euros cheap prepare to stand on certain times, once used this service will never complain about our trains. Becareful walking down to Herculaneum site (train stop Earclano) bag snatchers wait in the wings for unsuspecting.
Hotel was quiet night time, outside pool area clean and excellent bar service, sadly the time we stayed the weather could have been kinder however in the Summer the outside area would come into its own with the orange/lemon trees planted around the seating area.
Overall a nice hotel well worth a visit, packs those comfy shoes for the walking.

A hightlight of our Italian vacation was to end in Sorrento at the lovely Hotel Medierraneo. The staff was very helpful, and the hotel was not in the center of the city (nice and quiet). Our view from the balcony was spectacular.
