“Wonderful stay!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We had a terrific time at this hotel. The staff, especially "Nobody" (yes, that's the name he goes by) was as kind, funny, and helpful as one could possibly be! As an American, I found the room and shower small, but certainly as per the description. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay....nice breakfast and very nice pool area!

Room Tip: Face the pool area....quieter and very pretty....

Our family of 4, including children ages 11 and 14, spend 3 nights at the Mediterraneo the middle of May 2014. We stayed in the Family Room with a Queen in the upstairs loft area, and two twin beds for our kids on the lower area. Our room was on the ground floor, ocean view, and included a small terrace.

We have nothing but praise for the level of customer service for the front desk staff. A few noteworthy comments:
1. Our travel agent had originally booked us into 2 separate rooms, as that was all the was available at the time of booking. Upon request, the front desk staff moved us to the Family Room so we could all stay together in the same room.
2. We asked for help traveling a short distance into downtown Sorrento - within 2 minutes, the front desk staff had booked us on a free shuttle.
3. Perhaps the most helpful action of the front desk staff was the recovery of 1 piece of our luggage. We weren't sure whether this piece of luggage was left in our taxi, or if someone had taken it, either intentionally or by accident. The front desk staff had tracked down our missing piece of luggage and had it in our room within the hour. It turned out that our taxi driver had unloaded our luggage in the lobby of the hotel, adjacent to another parties luggage who were departing the hotel. Mistakenly, the other parties taxi driver had taken our piece of our luggage by mistake. We were so grateful, that we purchased a bottle of champagne for the front desk staff, and upon receiving it, they insisted that we join them in opening and having a drink immediately - which we were happy to do - real fun bunch of folks working at the Mediterraneo.

The restaurant, located on the 5th floor, the top floor, has a spectacular view of the water and sunset. The food was excellent quality, and the service was superb. We dined at the restaurant for two of our three nights at the hotel.

The outdoor pool and adjacent bar was a wonderful touch. Plenty of reclining lounge chairs to enjoy the sun, swimming for the kids (or adults, though the water is refreshing!), and a covered poolside dining area for lunch. This area was on the East side of the hotel, perfect for morning or lunch swims or dining.

The main level of the hotel, in the reception area, had a wonderful bar where they hosted Happy Hour daily an hour or so prior to the upstairs dining room opening. Complimentary finger foods were provided, and our experience was the bar was always buzzing during Happy Hour. In fact, the first night of our arrival, live piano music was being played during Happy Hour.

We would highly recommend the Mediterraneo to a family or adjust couple (s) who enjoy great service, a great dining experience, and a wonderful ocean view and surroundings.

Room Tip: For families with kids, definitely go for the Family room.

After a two week European stay and several previous trips to Europe, our stay at Hotel Mediterraneo has been the most enjoyable of them all. The front desk service from Aniello is exceptional and the bar service from Nobody... Well what can we say, Nobody does it better! The barman's name is Nobody and he's a real character. Must add that the rooms are a great size and the bathroom is too. All is clean and breakfast is lovely. All in all, 10 out of 10! Thanks to all the staff, from the Australians.

We stayed at this hotel recently in May 2014.

Arriving at the hotel we was greeted by a member of staff who parked our car & took our luggage. We went to reception & although we arrived way before our check in time the reception staff checked & told us our room was ready & got us straight to our room where our luggage was brought to us. Very impressed as we was expecting just to drop our luggage until check in time!

The room we had was a cheaper basic room - it was quite small but very clean with a small balcony. Certainly perfect for a short stay that we was there for.

The grounds & pool area are very well kept & we spent quite a bit of time just soaking up the sun by the pool! There is a bar & restaurant by the pool & the barman (who goes by the name of "nobody") was funny & polite at all times.

The main restaurant on the top floor overlooking the sea serves excellent food in the evening - we had a couple of meals here and the food was really very good indeed & reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant.

Breakfast was also served here & is fine for a continental style breakfast. The only negative I could find about this hotel is the cooked breakfast selection was quite poor. A minor point and the rest of the selection was very good.

The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to the centre of Sorrento - we took this & walked back - it is around a 30min walk away from the town.

We also went on the hotels own private yacht tour to the island of Capri - this was a lovely day going along the coast of Sorrento, then across to Capri with a full tour all around the island stopping at waterfalls & coves viewing some lovely scenary. Highly recommended!

The staff at the hotel deserve a special mention - every single member of staff was polite, helpful, friendly & efficient at any and all times. Many thanks to you all for making our stay a memorable one.

Easily recommended to anyone thinking of going to Sorrento!

Paul & Geraldine

There are very few hotels I would revisit for a holiday. This one I would definetly come back to. Its a small hotel but immaculate in every way. The hotel is spotless, the staff are wonderfully friendly. Outside you have a beautiful pool area, with the hotel being small enough to avoid the scrum around the pool. At lunchtime you can eat at the pool restuarant and in the evening food is served on the top floor, overlooking the sea and the views are outstanding. We had a small problem with our toilet and we were moved to a beautiful suite with a bottle of bubbly on ice, for when we returned. Thats looking after customers! Well done to you all.

Having just returned from another wonderful holiday at the Mediterraneo, I couldn't wait to write a glowing review. The hotel is beautifully located with easy access into Sorrento and Sant Agnello. The staff were so attentive, and feel I must mention the friendliness and efficiency of Arturo and 'Mr Nobody' at the bar, to the helpful and pleasant staff on reception. The cleaning staff were cheerful, and nothing was too much trouble. I must also mention Americo, the lifeguard, who works very hard. He is always smiling and an all round pleasant guy, who is eager to please.
Can't wait to return, this really is a lovely holiday to experience.

Room Tip: Both pool view or sea view are delightful.

Easy to find, plenty of parking, stunning rooms. Could be a little cleaner on the exterior, but white is difficult to maintain. Although we paid more through Booking.com than the last minute rate, the reception staff upgraded us to a sea view room at no extra cost. We made use of the adjoining private beach, and then relocated to poolside, where we had a great chat with Americo, who made us feel very welcome and was full of suggestions about where to eat in Sorrento. The hotel is a little outside of town, but there is a shuttle, and the views are stellar. Although we're only staying one night, we'd definitely recommend it, and are looking forward to staying longer next time.
