“A magical time with amazing people.”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

From the moment we decided to have our wedding in this hotel nothing was too big or too small for them to look after. Francesco Monti and his staff showed us what real customer service is. Anything we asked for was no problem to them at all.

We arrived on the 27th of May to a wonderful welcome and we were escorted to our room which was amazing. Shortly after a bottle of champagne arrived to our room to celebrate the start of what was to be the most amazing week of our lives so far (apart from the birth of our daughter of course).

We had a beautiful dinner n the very impressive panoramic Vesuvio restaurant. The next day my family and guests arrived and we just as impressed as we were. The days/nights leading up to the wedding were fantastic with great attention given to each and every one of us by the wonderful customer focused staff who are all over the hotel.

The day of the wedding went off perfectly with each piece falling in one after another. I cannot thank Francesco and his team enough for what they did for us on this day and the day after for the BBQ. It was a day that both Darran and I will never forget. My guests will be talking about this for years to come and will each return to Sorrento and the hotel for future visits.

As for Darran and I we will be back to celebrate numerous anniversary's here in this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. If you stay here you will not regret it I can assure you that.

Thank you all,

Nicola and Darran... xx

We were very impressed with the location and look of the hotel. We were shown to our room and absolutely delighted with our sea view double superior room. Not only did we have a balcony which was fantastic, the room was very spacious, comfortable and very clean. A very special touch was the bottle of bubbly and fresh fruit to celebrate our anniversary. The breakfast selection is again excellent and sitting on the balcony enjoying breakfast overlooking the ocean with Mount Vesuvius on one side and the beautiful coastline on the other is breathtaking. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and can honestly say it was the best meal we had in Sorrento. We walked into the centre and it only took 10 to 15 minutes. We did use the free shuttle bus once. We booked two excursions through the hotel which I definitely recommend rather than trying to organise and use public transport yourself. You do not have to take towels with you for pool use as the hotel provides these. This hotel exceeded our expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend it. Just a few pointers, if you visit Capri you need to catch the boat for your return journey from a different spot from where you got off, just ask someone official looking and they will advise you. Ensure you have change for paying the funicular fee that takes you to Central Capri in a few minutes. If you go to Mount Vesuvius I recommend you wear pumps or trainers. Thank you to everyone at Hotel Mediterraneo for making us most welcome.

Room Tip: Sea view room has stunning views

My daughters (ages 18 & 21) and I just returned from a 4 night stay and had the best time! The staff were so friendly and helpful - everyone from the front desk, the bartenders, to the wait staff at the restaurant. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and had dinner in the restaurant 2 of the nights we were there because the food was so good, the views amazing, and the service outstanding. The pool area is gorgeous and you really must go down to the beach - it's really cool taking the elevator in the hotel down to the beach (be sure to get your ticket from the front desk to gain access to the beach). It cost 3 EU for a lounge chair but the view is spectacular, the beach bar/restaurant is clean and staff were friendly.

We had our wedding reception at this hotel and a 6 night stay. It was absolutely perfect! Francessco (the events coordinator) organised the whole day and arranged all the paperwork to allow us to marry at the cloisters. The day ran smoothly, the hair, make-up, transport and photography was excellent, everyone turned up on time and were very accommodating to our specific needs. We would not change a thing, the day was perfect and more then we had imagined it! Our guests are still raving about how romantic the setting was, we had exclusive use of the SkyBar, and how perfect the timing of the meal was (the sun was setting in the background behind the top table) and how wonderful the food and service was!
The hotel itself is immaculate. The staff are friendly, the location is perfect, the food is amazing, what more could you want from a hotel!!
We will definitely be back to celebrate anniversaries, we wouldn't stay anywhere else I Sorrento!!

After traveling from Rome to Venice by train, plane, boat, car.. we needed a break to relax and I can't begin to tell you how wonderful this place was.. From the minute we arrived in Naples our driver Biagio ( who became our driver for the next three days for everything!) was there waiting for us and had an amazing Mercedes Van for my family I knew it was going to be perfect!

The staff at the Mediterraneo; Francesco, Agnello, Pina, Francesca, and Americo! exceeded our expectations, they did everything for us, booked excursions to reservations to planning a beautiful birthday celebration for our daughter in the restaurant. From the minute we arrived they made us feel at home with everything and didn't know what else to do for us.. never have I felt so welcomed in a hotel as we did here. I hated leaving and wished that we stayed the entire 10 days instead of only 4 while we were in Italy. Biagio drove us around one day and took us everywhere, planned our lunch and stopped so we could shop and take photos. They have a private boat where they take you to the island of Capri for the day, my family and I absolutely loved the private boat excursion, and was worth every penny!

The rooms are lovely and bright and we were greeted with a bottle of champagne! The lobby/ lounge area has happy hour with hor d' oeuvres daily which is amazing as you sit outside with a glass of pinot and view the sunset! and the outside pool, restaurant area is gorgeous, I felt like I was in the Caribbean!

Daily breakfast was delicious and the restaurant at night for dinner with a gorgeous view is amazing!

I can't wait to go back next year and see all these wonderful people that made everything perfect for my family, they are wonderful and hope everyone who reads this will visit them because you will have a wonderful time!

Grazie Hotel Mediterraneo! xoxo

Room Tip: Ocean view are beautiful and worth it for the sunset !!!

We had a terrific time at this hotel. The staff, especially "Nobody" (yes, that's the name he goes by) was as kind, funny, and helpful as one could possibly be! As an American, I found the room and shower small, but certainly as per the description. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay....nice breakfast and very nice pool area!

Room Tip: Face the pool area....quieter and very pretty....

Our family of 4, including children ages 11 and 14, spend 3 nights at the Mediterraneo the middle of May 2014. We stayed in the Family Room with a Queen in the upstairs loft area, and two twin beds for our kids on the lower area. Our room was on the ground floor, ocean view, and included a small terrace.

We have nothing but praise for the level of customer service for the front desk staff. A few noteworthy comments:
1. Our travel agent had originally booked us into 2 separate rooms, as that was all the was available at the time of booking. Upon request, the front desk staff moved us to the Family Room so we could all stay together in the same room.
2. We asked for help traveling a short distance into downtown Sorrento - within 2 minutes, the front desk staff had booked us on a free shuttle.
3. Perhaps the most helpful action of the front desk staff was the recovery of 1 piece of our luggage. We weren't sure whether this piece of luggage was left in our taxi, or if someone had taken it, either intentionally or by accident. The front desk staff had tracked down our missing piece of luggage and had it in our room within the hour. It turned out that our taxi driver had unloaded our luggage in the lobby of the hotel, adjacent to another parties luggage who were departing the hotel. Mistakenly, the other parties taxi driver had taken our piece of our luggage by mistake. We were so grateful, that we purchased a bottle of champagne for the front desk staff, and upon receiving it, they insisted that we join them in opening and having a drink immediately - which we were happy to do - real fun bunch of folks working at the Mediterraneo.

The restaurant, located on the 5th floor, the top floor, has a spectacular view of the water and sunset. The food was excellent quality, and the service was superb. We dined at the restaurant for two of our three nights at the hotel.

The outdoor pool and adjacent bar was a wonderful touch. Plenty of reclining lounge chairs to enjoy the sun, swimming for the kids (or adults, though the water is refreshing!), and a covered poolside dining area for lunch. This area was on the East side of the hotel, perfect for morning or lunch swims or dining.

The main level of the hotel, in the reception area, had a wonderful bar where they hosted Happy Hour daily an hour or so prior to the upstairs dining room opening. Complimentary finger foods were provided, and our experience was the bar was always buzzing during Happy Hour. In fact, the first night of our arrival, live piano music was being played during Happy Hour.

We would highly recommend the Mediterraneo to a family or adjust couple (s) who enjoy great service, a great dining experience, and a wonderful ocean view and surroundings.

Room Tip: For families with kids, definitely go for the Family room.
