This B&B consists of beautifully renovated rooms in an old house often visited in the past by the poet Gabriele d'Annunzio (hence the name). It is only a few steps from the main square and a small but excellent supermercato in this picturesque small medieval hill town. The young owner, Alessandra, speaks excellent English, provides a sumptuous breakfast (the best we had in Italy) and is very informative about and involved in the traditions and culture of the community, so that we felt less like tourists and more like welcome guests over the 5 days of our stay. Alessandra went out of her way to be helpful, even accompanying us to the bus stop as we were leaving to explain to the bus driver where we wanted to be let off (our Italian is minimal) on our outward journey. We were impressed with her efficiency, her friendliness and the quality of her B&B. We loved our time in Scanno as a result.
