This hotel is a gem. It is new, very well designed and constructed, luxurious but unpretentious and extremely well run. The food (breakfast and dinner included) was superb and the service throughout the hotel couldn't have been any better. It only has 12 or so guest rooms which makes for an intimate, quiet and relaxing stay. It has a very nice wellness facility with pool/steam/sauna/spa services, cafe/bar, wine bar and a separate fine dining restaurant. The ski storage/dressing room, morning van service to lifts and the proximity to the ski outs (50 meters to Campinoi, 150m to Nives) made for easy, low hassle skiing. Selva/Val Gardena is a beautiful town and the skiing is world class. We will definitely return and stay at this hotel again. Highly recommended.

Only 13 rooms to this little gem and I wouldn't have it any other way. The hotel was extremely hospitable. Rooms were modern, clean and cozy. The location was superb, as it was next to the bus stop and in the main town square. The food was first class. Hot breakfast was served by request (eggs & such) as well as a full continental breakfast with cereals, cheese, cold meats, various breads and pastries. Dinner was a five-course meal that always offered options for carnivores as well as vegetarians. The hotel was also attached to a restaurant, coffee shop and wine bar, which provided a crowd different than hotel guests. The indoor, heated pool was beautiful and large windows provided an outdoor-feel despite the enclosure. The owners, Alex and Alexia, and their staff really make for a pleasant experience, fulfilling every need. I chose this hotel over the luxury, five-star Alpenroyal Hotel and would make the same choice again. No negative comments whatsoever.

We stayed in Selva di Val Gardena at the Nives hotel during the Xmas holiday in 2009/2010...and we really loved it!
The rooms are spacious and confortable, with a beautiful warm decoration. The swimming pool is beautiful and I have to say that I was somehow scared by the reviews that I read here ...but it was not at all crowded (and Xmas is the highest season ever for Selva!). The small spa has everything you need to relax after an intense ski day!
...and the food! The food is really amazing and I suggest you try their à la carte restaurant: it's really delicious.
The staff was very kind and helpful.
We are looking forward to repeating this experience at Nives and I advice you to try it.

Decided to take another trip to Selva, this time in Summer and returned again to the Hotel Nives.
We were interested to see how the Hotel had stood up, since the rebuild/renovation over 3 years ago and we were very pleasantly surprised.
The Linder family have kept the beautiful small hotel to an immaculate standard and we can't recommend this hotel enough.
Thanks again for a perfect holiday

Hotel Nives was everything we were hoping it would be and more! It is a simply beautiful hotel. We loved the spa, especially after a long day's skiing, there was nothing better than to head down for a sauna, a steam and a splash in the pool or simply to sit on the loungers and watch the world go by.

Our room was fantastic - stylish, roomy and we loved the free Etro toiletries! Dinners were also great, the staff were always very friendly and helpful and you never left hungry after the 5 course meals!

We would definitely go back! Our only criticism was that the spa could get very busy at certain times and there'd be no loungers (guests from the sister hotel can use the spa too) but after a couple of days we worked out what time to go down when fewer people were there and it was perfect!

Incorporating a unique aesthetic and international sophistication, the Hotel Nives in Selva di Val Gardena combines a modern, chic style with casual elegance. Located in the heart of the mountain village, the small luxury hotel offers 11 rooms, junior suites and suites for guests. My wife and I spent a week at Hotel Nives in early March, on a ski holiday celebrating our fifteenth wedding anniversary. We stayed in one of the suites, which exuded contemporary, residential luxury which is not often found in mountain retreats. The restaurant with the half-board plan featured regional cuisine which was one part traditional fare and another part eclectic design. The five-course dinners did begin to overwhelm us by the end of our stay and I did wish that the restaurant would offer a simple, laid-back meal for at least one night during the week. The wine selection available offered us a numerous selection of regional and international varieties. A pleasant offering came in the house wine which was both reasonably priced and delicious. Hotel Nives also has an ala carte restaurant, bar and wine cellar. The spa and wellness center of the hotel is outstanding, offering a full-service spa, along with an eye-catching indoor pool which caught many envious glances from those outside looking in. Nives is a jewel of an alpine hotel resting in one of the most spectacular mountain settings you will find anywhere in the world. It will be our home again whenever we travel to the Dolomites of Italy again. Bravo to the Linder family in providing such a wonderful experience for us.

Took a chance on this hotel based on the website and one Trip Advisor review. What a fantastic find! We spent 5 days in this stunning new hotel. The owners and staff are very professional and helpful. We stayed in a junior suite which was incredible - it had a beautiful freestanding bathtub in the middle of the living room, looking out over the mountains. The decor is an inspired mix of modern and traditional. There is a really nice indoor infinity pool, spa and "wellness area" which is a clothing free zone including sauna, steam room etc. We prudish North Americans were a bit freaked out by the clothing free thing at first but eventually worked up the courage to go in when nobody else was there! The food was sophisticated and delicious, and the nightly multicourse dinners were a great way to sample all the local delicacies and get to know the gracious staff. Best of all there are daily activities such as hikes, mountain biking, and Nordic walking free of charge. The hiking was just spectacular and the guides contracted by the hotel were very good. We would love to return in the summer, or check out the skiing in winter. Highly recommended!
