“Almost perfect (only issue: kitchen)”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

This hotel has it all except one thing ( I will expand on it later):
+ almost over-attentive staff (owners, waiters, bar staff, ...)
+ perfect wellness area
+ modern, yet locally styled rooms (not that over-decorated Alpine style and not too much business style - just perfect)
+ spacious parking at the hotel
+ nicest storage room for skis I every saw
+ nice bar
+ very close to Sella Ronda
o you definitely pay the location very close to Sella Ronda
- kitchen is the only minus:
- breakfast with cold scrambled eggs (but made to order fried eggs), no 100% orange juice
o dinner served at table (which may be considered nice by some guests - we found it boring and it lead to cold food)
- food generally boring (compared to all hotels at a lower price range we stayed in in the last few years)
- we both could have cooked 80% of the food better than the cook and some of our lunches at the slope where better then at the hotel (try "the Knoedel tris" at Bamby Huette ... excellent!)
- no adoption of local cooking traditions
- sweets in a large variety but generally boring to tasteless
- wine recommendation by waiters made easy: they just pick the most expensive ones

Room Tip: Cannot tell about other rooms but our room had beds that were 1.80 m long only. Check if you are tal...

We found paradise at Hotel Laurin in Selva! Our 10 day stay there this summer exceeded our expectations, and was the highlight of our month in Italy. Everything is simply outstanding: the location, the decor, the breaksfast, the service, the facilities, and most of all the people. Astrid, Gregor, and Lauren are extremely attentive to their guests and create an outstanding holiday experience. They truly deliver on their value proposition of being a small and charming hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. From the moment you walk in you are genuinely welcomed by the owners.
The rooms are beautifully furnished and so comfortable. Beds were turned down daily and towels replaced more than once a day. We were lucky to have a great view over the yard/stream and the mountains. There was no fridge in the room that we had which we have realised after travelling for the last few weeks are not a standard in European hotels.
There is a lovely pool and a 'wellness' area that is a bonus after a long day of physical activity.
Breakfast is sensational and like the other reviewers have said, there is a huge breakfast selection. The only minor criticism I can think of with breakfast is that the boiled eggs were cold each morning.
My birthday fell on our stay here and I had rose petals scattered over the table and complementary bubbly during breakfast which was delightful.
If you are looking for a small hotel that is run by genuinely nice people and their staff look no further than this hotel. I'm already looking for an excuse to go back!

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 6 nights in August. The rooms are lovely, big clean and new. We had an interesting set up with our bathroom as its in our room and made of glass. There is a blind for privacy.
Our children were next door which was great and their room was lovely as well.
The breakfast was yummy. Probably one of the best I have had. Fresh breads, doughnuts, muesli, yougharts, lots of fresh fruit and cheeses. There was yummy coffee and hot chocolate for the children.
Our hosts, Astrid and Gregor, were very helpful and always around to help with advice and restaurants. Their 3 boys also spoke very good English and were helpful with ideas and directions. We borrowed the hotel bikes for a gentle ride and completed a 40 km cycle at the top of the Selva pass. It was beautiful and another wonderful day.
The wine at the hotel was nice and reasonably priced.
We were very pleased with the pool. It was spotlessly clean, lovely and warm and perfect after a tiring day climbing.
My girls also loved the slackline in the garden.
It is a great hotel and we will definitely be back.

Room Tip: We had rooms overlooking the side car park. These were fine and with a nice view.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 nights this summer and can only describe it as excellent in every way. The family owners are exceptionally friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They have thought of everything in terms of comfort for their guests, and by comparison everyone else falls short of their customer service. The breakfast is excellent, the rooms are immaculate and very comfortable, and the facilities are wonderful. It is in a beautiful area and I would not hesitate to recommend it to even the most discerning of people.

Room Tip: We had a corner room with a balcony on both sides and it was fantastic

We spent 3 nights with Astri, her husband and three sons this summer. And what a great stay! We felt the wamth already in the initial mail dialog. Astri and the husband made this a great stay. We got a very nice junior suite, with extra bedroom and bathroom for the kids. The rooms are very nice, with great beds. The breakfast is great and the wine selection is super. We will come back to Laurin and Selva.

Room Tip: If you are a family of four; pick the junior suite!

I have been in this hotel four or five times, and every time I have been impressed by the friendliness of the owners (and managers) and all personnel. The site is gorgeous, the rooms very clean and perfectly equipped, the breakfast is just perfect (less gorgeous in Summer than in the Winter season). In terms of quality/cost, the offer is almost unbeatable.
