Hotel Portillo Dolomites 1966'
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 14 February 2012

I stayed in Portillo 1 week in the beginning of February 2012. And that was amazing!

1. Location.
Just in 300 meters from Selva city center and 500 meters from Champinoi. There is a free hotel shuttle which runs to Selva center and main slopes in the morning and afternoon.
Moreover there is a wonderful and scenic ski path from Nives skilift to Portillo - so there is no need to take a shuttle for coming back to the hotel.

2. Rooms.
My single room was not very spacious, however very clean and cosy. The only minus was sound proofing, so I could hear very, but very well what was happening in the corridor. Almost all the rooms have a terrace with an amazing view to mountains.

3. SPA area.
There is fantastic SPA zone which includes big heated swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, Jacuzzi, water beds.
Portillo offers a wide range of wellness services form massage to manicure. Nice quite music and candles all over - the atmosphere of 100% relaxation.
A basket with fig and prunes in the corridor towards the spa and swimming was a nice surprise.

4. Restaurant.
The restaurant is tastefully decorated and spacious. The food was just outstanding delicious and perfectly served!
The dinner with five courses in the evening.
The have gala dinner on Sundays, and once during my stay they made an appetitive with Spumante, oysters and live piano music. That was something indescribable!

5. Staff.
The hotel runs by the family Senorer who pays a lot of attention to the comfort of their guests. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I would like to thank these wonderful people, particularly Mr. Oliver Senoner, for their kind attention, time and help! They have created such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, so every client feels like at home.

I would love to come back to this wonderful hotel and definitely recommend it to everybody who is looking for a nice, quite, high-standard ski holidays!

We stayed at Hotel Portillo 4 nights last week and we had an amazing time. The hotel is run by a family who are very friendly and helpful. The rooms and the service are brilliant. There is a shuttle bus that runs in the morning and afternoon from the hotel to town/ski slopes. The food was high quality and 5* dinner with 5 courses in the evening. We will definately go back and stay at this hotel - there is nothing I can fault. Thank you for a lovely stay. Natalie

Chalet Hotel Portillo is definitely the best place I have ever stayed in! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was warm and enchanting. I felt like I was at home. The facilities were great too; sauna, jacquzzi, I have never been so relaxed! I particularly miss the breakfast and the chats with the staff :-) thank you Chalet Hotel Portillo!!!!

I just returned together with my wife and kids from a week holiday in Chalet Hotel Portillo. This is a great place to stay! The hotel is run and owned by the family Senoner, who founded the hotel in 1965. The family Senoner is one of the kindest hotel operators I ever met. The family has an eye for detail and they are sincerely interested in their quest. Also the rest of the hotel staff is very friendly and professional. The restaurant in the hotel has a very nice ambiance, is spacious and is very nicely designed. The very modern wine cabinet, with large glass doors give the place an extra touch. The food was really excellent. Every evening was a big treat. Also the breakfast was top quality. In the afternoon when we returned from our skiing we had tea and some drinks in the hotel bar, it was always served with some nice snack. Also in the corridor towards the spa and swimming pool you will find a basket with fresh apples and mandarins. The hotel has next to the bar a nice lobby with a fire place and a reading room. The spa and the large swimming pool are beautiful and brand new and top class. As the hotel only has about 30 rooms it’s never really busy, even in the peak hours between skinning and dinner. In the basement there is also a nice area with a table tennis and football table. We stayed in the very large superior rooms, which has a separate toilet and bathroom, something you usually only find in a 5 star hotel. Also the quality of the beds was perfect. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk toward the centre of Selva and the Champinoi skilift. In the morning the hotel shuttle bus takes you to the Champinoi ski lift or the area were the ski lessons starts next to the Dantercepies ski lift. But what is really nice, is that you can ski back to the hotel via a easy ski path that brings you just in front of the hotel.

This is a wonderful friendly family hotel, near the main town area with a fantastic pool/spa facility and great dining in an immaculate new dinning area. I cannot believe some of the comments on this web site - dont believe the rubbish othrs put down about this hotel. Beds are great and service is A1! Keep up the good work all of the Senoner family and your excellent staff. We will be back next year with all of our group of 9 people who all have the same view as me. From Steve D (Hitchin) UK
