“As having a second home in the mountain”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2013 via mobile

We have enjoyed skiing from hotel Aaritz for more than 10 years. Everything works perfectly, and the staff is very attentive and friendly. The owner cares for the guests and one see that much of the money that we pay is reinvested in improvements of the hotel. The breakfast is a chapter for itself. A richer breakfast buffet is hard to find. Dinner is delicious and plentiful with huge salad buffet and dessert / cheese buffet as start and end around the three served dishes. Swimming pool and wellness center extend in a comfortable way the days when the sun goes down and the lifts close.

Just back from a week of skiing in the Dolomites. Staying at the Hotel Aaritz was a real pleasure - it appears to be owner run and Susy is around all of the day and evening to keep an eye on things. The restaurant was very professional and friendly at the same time, and the quality of the food was excellent - and there was so much of it! Just matter of working out what to leave, it was all delicious!

The spa has just been refurbished and was excellent. I don't usually bother with the pool, but this was a great facility and I enjoyed using the jacuzzi and steam room to ease those aching muscles.

This is definitely somewhere that I would go back to either for winter sports or for a summer visit.

Room Tip: Try 4th floor

We returned to the Aaritz after a great experience last year. The situation opposite the main lift and very close to the bottom of the main runs is excellent. Food ,service and amenities and first class. Suzy and her staff are unfailingly efficient, helpful and pleasant. The heated ski and boot room is a boon.

Room Tip: Mountain views at the front but quieter at the back.

Our second trip to the Aaritz was as excellent as the last one. We came here for a skiing trip at Easter and returned for another go over the Christmas Holiday. The fact that we were keen to return so soon is an indicator of the brilliant standards at this hotel and the truly friendly welcome with which one is received. On arrival we were immediately recognised and welcomed by Susy and her staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.
This is the first hotel I have stayed at where the waiter at breakfast was able to remember, without any prompting, what we all drank at breakfast from when we last stayed nine months ago! Like wise the barman Danielle gave us the same impeccable service. Travel adapters were produced and extra pillows provided without any problem. Guidance on walks, shops and bus services were all provided with the same care and thoughtfulness as the provision of a cocktail.
The food in the dining room was the usual excellent standard with the gala dinner on Christmas Eve living up to the usual very high standards - a sumptuous feast of canapés all washed down with champagne cocktails, followed by a five course dinner. If I have one criticism (not really) it is that the hotel is always offering food. Free nibbles with cocktails, free cake with afternoon tea, and if the choice on the evening menu is not quite what one fancied, then they are happy to cook to order. It seems rude to refuse and if not careful it would be very easy to return from holiday the size of a house.
The required exercise to keep the waist line down is easily had with the Campinoi ski lift almost directly opposite the hotel allowing very easy access to the slopes. The swimming pool and spa centre were as excellent as ever and used extensively to try and work off all the calories gained in the dining room.
We had a horrendously early start (03:30), due to a change in flight times for our return to the UK, but were still provided with a packed breakfast and the offer of hot drinks in reception while waiting for the coach.
Will we return? you bet. We are already talking about booking for next year so that we can ski more of the Dolomites, as we have only covered about a third of the available ski area. Also we would not want to miss the impeccable service and welcome given by all the staff at this amazing hotel.

I've just returned from a week's stay at the Aaritz and had a single room (room 219) which was lovely. It had a spacious balcony, got the afternoon sun and faced the mountain. It got a bit warmm in the night, but I just opened the balcony door to let the cool night air in. While the road in front of the hotel is fairly busy in the day, it's very quiet at night.

The hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of variety. Couldn't fault anything. My bathroom was modern and the standard of cleaning was superb.

A lovely hotel, very welcoming and you feel like they really care about their guests.

Stayed for 2 weeks August 2012. Excellent hotel & very friendly helpful staff. Immaculately clean. Superb breakfast, including breakfast box on departure day - nothing was too much trouble. Prime location - many restaurants close by. Beautiful swimming pool - very contemporary. Complimentary snacks with bar drinks. Weather was great too. Had a fantastic holiday. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

4 star hotel right in the centre of Selva. Perfectly located opposite the main cable lift to hit the slopes.
The hotel is run outstandingly by the owners who are always helpfull with suggestions and recomendations. Overall the service and the quality was extremely high and the prices highly competitive.
The Spa/Swimming pool area is brand new and very nice: the swimming pool is 15m long. There is also a small gym
Wi-fi is available in the rooms
I have been to few other hotels in Selva (all family run and 4 star) and this one is on top of the list.

Room Tip: Double rooms with balcony are optimal for the summer. Corner rooms are slightly bigger. All rooms...
