“Excellent skiing holiday accomodation”
Reviewed 2 April 2013

A faultless week long stay at the Continental. It was perfect for every aspect of a skiing holiday: piste side location with handy ski-room, spacious rooms always well cleaned, friendly service and varied, indulgent and substantial meals every evening and breakfast accompanied by a cosy bar. A great stay.

Stayed there at start of march 2013. Very friendly staff. Sincere hospitable service. Small, family operated hotel. 3 floors only. Great selection of saunas (turkish, finnish, russian) in the basement. Ski room with heated boots rack. Free parking for guests. A bit pricey, cost me $1350 for 4 nights. Nice dinners, you choose the menu, choice of 2-3 hots. In Friday - nice buffets with great selection of vegs, salads, pastry, fresh fruits and berries. Water and wines are extra
Breakfasts are bit slim. Cereals and cold cuts. Eggs and beckon are charged.

Just returned from a fantastic stay at the Continental; the food is really excellent, the service is great, the rooms are warm, exceptionally clean and spacious and the location is the best in the area.

I've seen some reviews complaining about the walk up from town but the hill really isn't that steep, it takes 10 minutes and you can actually get a chairlift from the centre to just above the hotel and ski down in the evenings so you don't even have to slog your skis uphill. Plus in a morning, this means you're already at the top of the hill whilst everyone else from town has to struggle up!

I'll definitely be returning to the Continental in the future.

We found the Continental Hotel by accident (we were trying to book another one in the centre of the village); how lucky we were! The hotel is situated at the upper side of the village, just ten minutes walk from the centre (yes, it is a bit steep to walk up to the hotel, particularly after a day's ski in the mountains-on the other hand one can use the local bus or his own car). The hotel is beautiful, spacious rooms, extremely clean, spacious bathrooms (with separate w.c) and very quite (for those who apreciate a good nights quite sleep). The family who run it as well as all of the staff are doing their best to keep you satisfied. We were really thankfull to them.
Food is great (plenty to chose from- every morning we were given the evening menue to chose from three entrants, one soup, three seconds and sweets, plus a great fresh salad bar). There is an extensive wine list of very reasonable prices.
The wellness centre is small (compared to other places we have visited). It has one great sauna, a biosauna, a hamah (that was rather cold for our likes) plus a jaguzzi that could fit some 6-8 people. All of the premises were extremely clean.
The great advantage of this hotel is the proximity to the main Dantercepies lift. You walk out of the ski room, and the next building uphil is the lift's entrance. On our way back we skied right infront of the ski room of the hotel (we just had to cross the road).
Skiing in the Dolomiti is one of the most memorable experiences. Great pistes, very well layed, long rides downhill, incredible variety of pists (from few black ones, to a lot of red and blues). You can ski all day long without passing from the same piste twice.
A great experience. We will definitely come back.

We are about to finish a 6 night stay at the hotel and only have good things to say, I would ignore every bad review as it just doesn't make sense, yes the hotel owner is a quite woman but so what she is nice and helpful when needed and never said no to any request, her son is amazing willing to help with every single request we had, besides who said hotel owners need to be very talkative? One thing for sure they run a clean, comfortable and lovely establishment. We have stayed in luxury hotels around the world so our standards are high. The spa area is lovely and children are welcomed from 3-4:30 and on the days it snows hard they opened the spa as early as 1 pm for the kids to enjoy. It is about 30 meters to one of the main cable cars so it is absolutely ski in ski out. The resort is simply amazing, we are used to skiing in France and were a bit nervous, we were wrong the skiing here was better, we were very lucky with a lot of fresh snow and it was not that cold as the site is a bit lower than those we have been to in France. As for the food, I have had better meals but the food was just fine, some dishes were even great. There is a lovely buffet every night and the you chose from at least three different main courses and appetizers. We were traveling with our three boys (12, 15, 16) and their two cousins both age 14. Once again, you can book this hotel and I have no doubt you will be thanking me for this review....

Room Tip: Rooms over looking valley have better view we had room 106 which doesn't have a view but who car...

Stayed at Hotel Continental 2/2/13 for a week. What a superb week it was.
Flight was four hours late in to Innsbruck so we arrived at the hotel at roughly 20:45. Were told we could go straight through for dinner and check-in afterwards, superb stuff.
Food all week was excellent, plenty of choice on the daily evening menus.
Waitress service was also excellent, especially the evening of "Fat Thursday" when all dressed as devils etc. ;-)
Breakfast buffet was second to none (trust me I've traveled in Europe / Italy a fair bit).
Staff very very helpful / accommodating after wife injured knee (ACL) skiing.
Ideal ski-in / ski-out (or in my case 'board-in/out) location - easy access to village (on skis/board) and Dantercipes Gondola.
Only slight downside is it's a long slog from village to hotel if walking back (uphill) but this can be remedied by purchasing a 7 Euro (all week) or 3 Euro (daily) Ski-express bus ticket from hotel reception and jumping on the bus.

Thanks once again to all the staff and family Linder for an excellent stay.

Ski in ski out hotel adjacent to the Dantercepies cable cars. Good rooms, excellent service, fantastic food. Everything one needs for a tremendous ski getaway.
Val Gardena offers what is probably one of the top three skiing experiences in Europe.
