“Excellent hotel, great value”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights - and would've stayed longer if they had availability.

My room was very big, especially for a solo traveler. It had a nice balcony, a spacious well-equipped modern bathroom, and was considerably quiet even though it was on the main street. When I first entered a room, a small snack was waiting on my pillow as a warm welcome.

Breakfast was lovely and had a nice variety, dinner was absolutely amazing(!) and the menu changes every day. If there is something on the menu that you don't like, there are plenty of alternatives! Just ask. The waitress was very kind even though we had a little trouble communicating at first (most of the hotel staff speaks German).

There is nothing negative I can say about this hotel. It was fantastic - and in the same level with hotels costing 20 euros more per night. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next trip.

Also, a small tip - there is a tourist bus ticket that most of the hotels hand out to their guests - this can be used for ski bus, and any other public transportation throughout Val Gardena area. I was unable to get this ticket at the hotel - I think they were out of tickets.
Head out to the nearest tourist office, mention that you're a guest of Hotel Flora, and you'll get one for free (alternatively you can pay 6-7 euros and buy it on the bus).

Booked this hotel as part of our Neilson skiing holiday package. Its on the main street but quiet, close to the shops, town centre and ski bus stop about 50m away. We we able to ski almost back to the hotel from one side of the Valley. The hotel is completely renovated to the point that you would think it was new. The finishing and furnishing in all parts of the hotel and rooms is excellent. The whole place is spotless. We had a room with a large double bed and double sofa bed and large shower room. Shower was great, powerful and hot. Rooms were lovely and warm to the point where we turned it down. Rooms were quiet and no noise from other guests. Ground floor reception, bar and lounge were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had the usual selection of cereals, eggs, meats, cheese, fruits, yoghurts, breads and pastries, all very good. Evening meals are posted up in the morning and if there is anything you don't fancy you can ask for a change and even get specially cooked steaks that were very tasty. Our youngest Son has something of an appetite and received seconds and even large portions every night so he was extremely happy, he also has a severe nut allergy and had no problems with any of the meals served. There is small games room in the basement and heated boot and ski storage room. A lovely family run hotel that we hope to return to in the future. Thanks for a really pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms have balcony but face the main road, we had a rear second floor room that faces t...

We had two friends with us. It was 6 years since we last stayed there. We were warmly welcomed by the family, who remembered us. Nothing had changed. It was like turning back the clock. Our friends loved it too. We had another fantastic week. Hotel booked through Nielson as a ski holiday. A real gem.

Loved the stay there. Great food, good location, right outside bus stop and next door to good shops. The hotel was spacious and friendly atmosphere. The only thing I did not like there were pillows as they were very small and thin.
In any case I would highly recommend the hotel and would probably come back there again, only this time I will bring my own pillow! ))

After a 2nd attempt landing at Innsbruck Airport, our group of 15 arrived late evening at the Flora to a warm welcome and dinner! This is our second year with Petra and her family and the hotel continues to live up to all the great reviews. Clean, warm rooms with good showers (some with baths) and plenty of hot water. Firm beds take some getting used to. Well cooked plentiful food although desserts are a bit hit and miss (no excuse really as there are some delicious puddings/cakes everywhere else). Recommended.

A group of us stayed at the Hotel Flora in January. Although the hotel is at the bottom end of the village, away from most of the bars and the main ski lifts, these can be reached within a few minutes by using the bus, which stops just over the road. The neighbouring resorts of St Cristina and Ortisei can also be reached easily by bus. The hotel will supply you with a guest guard which provides free bus travel. The hotel is beautifully furnished and is kept immaculately clean. There is a nice bar, which guests and locals alike frequent, as well as a cosy lounge area with a real fire. The bedrooms are very spacious and well appointed. A substantial buffet breakfast was served each morning, and evening meals consisted of four courses, starting with a varied salad bar. My only criticism of the food was that there was no choice of main course, but the hotel were happy to provide an alternative if asked. We found all the staff really friendly and accommodating, and helped to make our stay at the Hotel Flora a pleasurable one. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are going to ski in Val Gardena.

Room Tip: Rooms 101 and 102 are at the back of the hotel so are quieter than the rooms at the front of the hot...

Great hotel, good location, clean and well furnished rooms. Food excellent, service impeccable. Have already rebooked for next year.

Located close to the skibus, only a short ride to the bottom of the local slopes.

Family run, very friendly and nothing too much trouble.
