“The best hospitality I have ever experienced!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2011

When we first pulled up to Villa Paradisino, I thought the cab driver had it all wrong. I was expecting a Villa out in the countryside. In fact, we were in a busy, but small suburb. The magic of this place is that it is so close to Florence, but once you enter the gates of Villa Paradisino, you are in the countryside with everything you've dreamed of, but just a 15 minute train ride to downtown Florence. The Villa has been owned by Costanza and Serena's family since the early 1800's and it is perfect. The rooms are filled with antique furniture, yet still have the modern conveniences that you need (wi-fi in all of the rooms, hair dryers, great showers, bath tubs with whirlpools, and kitchens with the stoves that Americans pay thousands of dollars for! ) You can do your own cooking, if your room has a kitchen, as ours did, but we chose to eat out. The first night, Costanza cooked a wonderful dinner for us. It was so delicious! Every morning we had a beautiful breakfast at the villa consisting of cappuccino, cheese and honey, fruits, breads, ham and eggs. The ground of the villa were so beautiful. We strolled through olive trees, pomegranate trees, grape vines, tomato vines, and a huge garden. We rented a car, and because of the central location, every place that we wanted to visit was less 1.5 hours by car.

I am saving the best part of this review for last: Costanza and Serena! These two beautiful women will do EVERYTHING that they can possibly do to make your stay the best ever. Unlike a pricey city hotel, the hosts of Villa Il Paradisino are truly genuine. They remind me of my mom (who is also Italian) cooking for a holiday meal. The only motive that they have is to make you happy and to allow you to have the very best vacation of your life. Costanza seemed like a long time friend even in our Email correspondence before our trip!

I would stay here again in a heart beat!

Room Tip: If you have a group of 4-5, chose one of the apartments with a full kitchen. They are so spacious...

It is difficult to add to all the other glowing reviews but here goes. We stayed at Villa Il Paradasino for 2 weeks at the end of August/beginning September and had a wonderful time. It was super to have our own excellent accommodation, with a really comfortable bed (Il Giuggiolo), while having the services of a 5 star hotel, with the added benefit of being made to feel one of the family. We felt so at home and relaxed that we did very little of the sight-seeing that we had planned. We had 2 dinners (one following our amazing cooking class) in the manor house and the food was fantastic. On our last night we ate on our own terrace and Costanza and Serena served us Pollo del Paradasino cooked by their father which was brilliant. Most lunchtimes we ate tomatoes which we picked, and were still warm from the sun, together with the fresh herbs growing in the garden.

Costanza and Serena do not provide fantastic customer service because they feel they have to, they do because they want to, and they genuinely want all guests to have a wonderful and special time - which they do!

We stayed here for four nights, and wished we had more time. The estate is wonderful, it was great to just wander around and look at all the things they grow. When we came there were fresh eggs, grapes and olive oil in the kitchen, and we got more eggs during the stay. Constanza makes great food, we had a wonderful breakfast, as well as a cooking class which ended with a fantastic meal. The location of the villa is ideal for a visit to Tuscany. 15 minutes to walk to the train station to take you to Florence (or Sienna), 45 min to drive to Lucca and Pisa. Several good restaurants within walking distance as well. We really want to go back! So we highly recommend this place - but bring mosquito repellent!

Having spent the previous week with Italian relatives, it was wonderful to find a place to stay offering the same home from home feel - and so close to Florence. The rooms are full of character, but what makes this such a unique property are its gardens, with the pool surrounded by lemon, walnut, olive trees and vines; and its owners - just as an example when our flight was cancelled they went the extra mile to help us out. If half of each day is enough sightseeing for you then this is the perfect place to relax afterwards.

We have just come home after spending two lovely weeks at Villa il Paradisino. Everything about it is perfect, from the grounds (which are heavenly - olive trees, beautiful plantings of flowers and shrubs, vines and vegetable garden) to our apartment itself. We stayed in the 2 bedded apartment, Il Giuggiolo, which has fabulous vaulted ceilings, and antique furniture (and, thankfully, air con - the weather was blazing hot while we were there). The bathrooms were beautiful, and the kitchen sink and worktops were all marble.
Costanza and her sister Serena were excellent hosts, always helpful and on hand if we needed them, and bringing us bowls of delicious sun-warmed vegetables - oh, those tomatoes!
The pool was perfect to cool down in after a hot day.
From the villa it is a quick 12 minute train ride into central Florence, and it's easy to get onto the autostrada to visit all the fascinating towns. There is so much to do in Tuscany that we didn't have time for all we'd planned.
The villa itself is on the edge of a suburb of Florence, which means it is well served by large supermarkets, cafes and a great gelateria that we managed to visit most days.
A perfect holiday!.

We stayed here for 5 days in June in the three bedroom part of the villa.Constanza is a fantastic host,so welcoming and helpful, as all her family especially Serena and Knut. The rooms and beds were really comfortable and everything was immaculately clean. The family will do anything to help, booked us into the Uffizi gallery to avoid the queues, printed off bus and train times and advised the best places to see in Florence. The cookery class was great fun and ended in us eating a delicious meal we had helped make with other guests Harry and Karen and their young daughter. We will definitely return, this is a little oasis to return to after busy days in Florence .

I have been to Villa Il Paradisino three times and always been amazed. My wife and my immediate family and I ate a special, wonderful candlelit dinner using fantastic local products, many of which from their own garden. The leek frittata; meats, cheeses and honey; duck ragu pasta; faraona; balsamic glazed cippolini onions and other vegetables; and the chocolate cake were all outstanding.
We have been staying in Florence for over 8 months by now, eaten in many fine dining establishments and locals only trattorias (and everywhere else we can find) and I will easily say this was the best meal we have eaten. Costanza, Knut, and her whole family are wonderful people. The service and hospitality were warm and welcoming; the villa and grounds are gorgeous (outdoor pool, huge rooms and fireplce); the food was fantastic. What's not to love???
PS. You can also get cooking lessons from Costanza!!
