“Stayed as a Trafalgar tour”
Reviewed 1 September 2013

Beautiful landscaped gardens and a true villa experience. Not close to the city centre of Florence. Breakfast was lovely but in large groups, serves of meat and eggs are few and far between, same with all other products really. Get in early. WiFi is intermittent in the rooms but across the yard in the main reception works fine and is free. Have a shower the night before, just in case in the morning, you experience what we did and that was no shower water due to excess air in the pipes (apparently). It wasnt working all morning so we were unable to have a shower before shipping out on the tour. The restaurant had divine meals in a beautiful outdoor setting. Staff are also quite friendly here. Great spot for a wedding.

Room Tip: Dont open your windows if you want your weak air con to keep running, it shuts off automatically whe...

We just returned from staying in a 'Double superior room' for 7 days. Cannot complain about anything in truth - overall staff were very helpful and professional in whatever was asked of them. Additionally, the room A/C worked wonders and Wifi was excellent. There was a well stocked breakfast spread, the facilities were clean and the rustic grounds were quite beautiful. Hotel is a short walk across from local shops, supermarket, and a very fine local Pizzeria (AqAbA). Recommend buying bus tickets from local shops, as drivers often run out.
The pool was slightly 'bitty' for first few days, but crystal for the remainder. The Pool's bar serves very convenient food and drink but the restaurant would benefit from adding some of the more simple Tuscan foods to its menu - just for the non-connoisseur.

Room Tip: Consider upgrading from a standard room for more comfortable room facilities

I feel like this place is unloved and the staff have given up or don't care - the pool needed to be equalised as staff put too many chemicals in there, so pool was closed (instead of cleaning the leaves out of the pool I watched 4 members of staff lay out napkins for lunch at 11!)- air conditioning was not working and cleaners leaving hoovers and cupboards and drawers open throughout the hotel whilst they cleaned.
It really could be a lovely place if they had a manager that took control and put a bit of effort into getting the hotel back to where it deserves to be.

The hotel is conveniently located and the service is pretty good. Rooms are a bit old fashioned and should need some restorations. Unfortunately the air conditioned was broken in the middle of a terrible heat wave and it took them 3 days to fix it. As we were traveling with a baby they lent us a fan, otherwise it would have been impossible to sleep.

We flew to Milan airport on the day the school finished and only thanks to GPS arrive late tired and hungry
Staff very helpful and recommended an excellent local restaurant Acaba that would be open late
Fantastic food and then we saw our room with grand old high painted ceiling - we felt like royalty
Staff happy and helpful all the time
There was a wedding on the Saturday but this was beautiful to see the local warmth of feeling and no late disco so didn't interrupt our enjoyment
From here we drove to Florence, Pisa and Sienna and each time we were please to come "home" to the relaxed villa and its beautiful grounds and pool
Staff were obviously upset at some of the comments below so if you want the impersonal predictability of the large chain hotels then I'd recommend that you go to one of those unimaginative boxes of neutralized environment but if you want to dive into the pleasure of experiencing the real welcome of Tuscany then this is the place for you

Stayed here as part of Trafalgar Tours. But this little hotel villa is quite charming and cute. Quite like the decor of the entire villa and the rooms. Nothing sleek or very modern in this place. But beds and toilet (with bathtub) are still above average. Rooms are not really soundproof.

Minus point- located in the woods, nothing at all nearby.

Pros:
- Charming property and grounds
- Lovey room
- Restaurant staff

Cons:
- Twice left our room unlocked - apologised the first time, but the second time just said it's not possible
- Ignored Do Not Disturb signs - no apology, only denial
- Shower water pressure almost zero
- Breakfast is sub-par, breakfast staff are vacant
- Loud disco over the road can be heard in the evenings.

Room Tip: 108 is a good room. Cannot hear the disco from there.
