We stayed here a week, in two rooms, and named it Tranquillity Base. It’s high up, beautiful, with stunning views out over the plain, and was an absolute pleasure to discover and enjoy. (Signs to Tenuta Lonciano began miles below down in Siesto Lonciano). Returning here after our expeditions to Florence, Sienna and Lucca, or a tour of Chianti country, it was wonderful to sit out on the terrace and watch the evening light change as yet another beautiful sunset approached. Both our rooms had a fridge, and one had a tiny kitchen with 2 gas rings and a microwave. Although there are restaurants on the mountain and in the town below, we ate lunch out, then bought food and wine for the evening from local shops or already cooked from a rosticceria to reheat.
Our hosts and were delightful - welcoming and hospitable, helpful and knowledgable. The communal breakfast table was fuelled by a great buffet, including home-cooked cakes, pastries and jams, and Massimo cooked eggs to order as well as producing wonderful coffee, including decorated cappuccino. There is lots of outside space to sit and admire the views, including a huge, comfortable hammock.
This is an exceptional place, which I would revisit happily, time and again.

Considering everything this place has to offer -- swimming pool, jacuzzi, farm animals, an amazing view, wonderful grounds and a spectacular breakfast -- this should be 150 to 180 euros a night. However, Daniele and Massimo seem much more concerned with the happiness of their guests than their own pocketbooks. This was driven home to us by the fact that Hotels.com made a mistake and never confirmed our booking, so our five night stay was limited to the two nights where Daniele and Massimo had a cancellation. Although this wasn't their fault, they insisted on letting us have those two nights for free. (They also found us alternative accommodation nearby for the other nights.)

So the only advice we have for you is to book this place, and book it early -- it's such a great deal all the rooms will be snapped up quickly.

We just got home from our 5 year anniversary trip and my 40th birthday! We went to many places - all beautiful! The most beautiful place was this bed and breakfast! The hosts go out of their way to make your stay exceptional and the views are amazing! I highly recommend it! Daniele and Massimo are so detailed and attentive! They welcome you to their home with open arms! They knew I had asthma and diabetic issues and they were ready for me with sugar-free and gluten-free options for breakfast and got me new pillows and covers before my arrival just in case. I felt so taken care of! The room they had ready for us had a breathtaking view of Florence! We met other couples and families there at breakfast time and plan to keep in touch! It was an unforgettable 2 days in Florence! The train is close by with easy access into the city! Ten minutes away! The bed and breakfast was a gift in the middle of our busy trip! What a breathtaking get away! I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away! Thanks to Daniele and Massimo once more for a little piece of paradise on our trip! We hope to be able to travel back one day! We will recommend this place to our friends and family for many years to come!

Heartily recommend Tenuta Lonciano to anyone traveling in Tuscany by car. Great location - You can easily access Florence by train in just 15 minutes. Also convenient to reach other locations nearby - Siena, Fiesole, Lucca, Pisa. At the same time it offers a quiet and inspiring recreation in the middle of olive hills and vineyards. The view from our window was magnificent with Florence right beneath us. The hosts were very nice and helpful. Breakfast is a good variety plus a heartily cooked hot dish especially for each guest. Each room also has a small but fully equipped kitchen. The b&b is a renovated 13 century convent, historical and rustique place, but at the same all equipment and technology is functioning very well, including wifi. Bravo, Daniele and Massimo!

We stayed 2 nights but could have stayed longer. Very relaxing environment in the secluded hills overlooking Florence. Daniela is a great host - giving us a little history of the buildings (12th century convent), making sure we situated in our room and then giving us some great tips for visiting Florence and in his words - "welcome to your new home". One of his best suggestions - take the train from Sesto Fiorentino; free parking and only 1.5 euro per person each way. He also gave us several suggestions for the best "local" restaurants. The rooms were very comfortable, with a full kitchen, retaining much of the charm of the original building. The breakfast selections were perfect with Massimo preparing eggs made to order.

A unique oasis in the hills above Florence. The house is arranged with a refined taste for beauty. The big garden is very well kept with nice swimming pool, jacuzzi, lounge areas, olive groves and a breathtaking view. Daniele was extraordinarily hospitable, a perfect host. It says a lot when you arrive for the first time and the host welcome you at the gate in front of the house...
