Having stayed here a couple of years ago, we were really looking forward to a repeat performance. We were disappointed to find that many of our earlier experiences were not to be repeated. One of our fondest memories was of the fabulous Bellini cocktails which were served at the bar. No longer the correct white peach, yellow will have to do, no pink liquor to give it just the right tint of colour, and service which was quite hard to come by on many occasions. Dinner is no longer served on the sidewalk out front of the hotel, where we once had a memorable meal of fresh fish, deftly deboned by a particularly competent waiter.
Our room is in the newer part of the hotel, very much smaller than our last, and terribly noisy. I am writing this review as I can't sleep for the noise of the television in the adjoining room, and people walking up and down the corridor. Bathroom noises from the room on the other side will no doubt wake us again in the morning.
Breakfast is still served out of doors under the trees which is a lovely way to start the day. Just don't ask for tea, as for when it is brought to the table you will find it to be only hottish water in a jug. I did get 1/2 litre of milk when I requested some for my tea though!
Air con is really quite loud and not very efficient, but the noise does assist with covering up so many of the other sounds intruding on the room.
One of the more expensive hotels in Sestri, but certainly no longer the experience it once was. We will not be staying here again.
