We used Hotel Celeste as a cheap base to explore Sestri Levante and it's surrounding scenery. The hotel itself was very clean and very well looked after, if slightly dated in areas. The bar and restaurant area at the front of the hotel has great views over the (private) beach and the breakfast/food was very tasty.

Very close to the train station and the town, it's a great base for exploring.

Room Tip: Rooms that are the opposite side to the beach face the train station and can be a bit noisy if the doors/windows are left open.

Good base for a walking holiday in Cinque Terre. On seafront, close to all local amenities and train station.
Very friendly staff. Good food and good wine, reasonably priced.
Bathroom quite cramped but well equipped

We drove from our daughter's home in southern France (Mouans-Sartoux) with the idea of spending two-three days visiting the Cinque Terre, the renowned five villages on Italy's Ligurian coast. Christine suggested that we not stay in one of the villages but in nearby Sestri Levante instead. We went first-class: two top floor rooms for six people with a view of the Mediterranean. It wasn't cheap but it made the visit special.

Simply sitting on the balcony was part of the experience. Manager Franco was super-helpful. The train station (jumping off point for Cinque Terre) was a five-minute walk. Breakfast was included. Fine restaurants abounded. Friends from nearby Rapallo came by and marveled at the beauty of the town. It may be a while before we are able to return but our friends and relatives who live closer to Sestri Levante may well return to the Celeste.

Stayed at this small hotel as part of a walking group. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food is good and location is ideal for exploring the area and the cinque terre. Rooms are rather basic and for some inexplicable reason, the single members off our group were given double beds and couples ended up with very narrow single beds. Not very comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the Hotel and if you are a couple, a double bed.

An excellent location across from the beach and close to the town centre. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast first class. The room was large and clean. On our last night when we were out the staff came to clean our room and turn down the bed. What a pleasant surprise! Excellent service.
