My wife and I stayed in Hotel Belvedere for eight nights in August 2013. We were participating in the 2013 World Masters Orienteering Championships, held around Sestriere. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. We chose the half-board option, and the food was excellent, with many regional dishes, and the best cheesecake my wife has ever tasted. Our room was of reasonable size, although I understand that some of the other rooms are smaller. Location of Hotel Belvedere is both good and bad. The views are wonderful and there are not other hotels around. However, it is a long walk uphill to get to the center of town. The hotel does have a frequently running shuttle that helps to alleviate that problem. Wifi is spotty - some days were good and others not. The hotel staff were uniformly excellent. Most speak English, and they were always very helpful in meeting our requests and needs (including opening breakfast earlier a couple of days, arranging a special shuttle to take us to the train station upon leaving, providing extra pillows). If we stay in Sestriere in the future, Hotel Belvedere will be our first choice.
