In July I took my wife and son on a holiday to the lovely city of Pescara. One evening we decided to venture north on the Adriatic coast to a lovely town called Silvi Marina. We stopped at this restaurant, Velvet Marina. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we realised that we might be on to a winner (and not only because of the welcome air conditioning). The staff made us feel welcome right from the start. The restaurant is situated right in the centre of Silvi Marina and faces the sea. Can't really think of a better location for a quiet family dinner on the Adriatic coast.
We started our dinner with a selection of lovely hot and cold seafood starters.
The fish we had for our main course was delicious and it was definitely one of the best seafood meals I've ever had. We had a local rose' wine (suggested to us by the friendly waiter).
We obviously couldn't leave the restaurant without trying their desserts. Needless to say they were as good as we expected, judging by the quality of the dinner we enjoyed. At the end of the dinner we even had a 'passito' on the house. A great quality dinner in the end set us back a total of €80, not bad considering the amount of good quality food.
We were told by the staff that the Gelateria Tiziano, situated right next door, was a well known gelateria in the whole area. After a long walk through the town, we made our way back to the gelateria and decided to find out whether the staff were right. They were, once again.
For anybody that goes to visit Pescara, I strongly suggest to try this place out.
