This is a highly recommended restaurant just off the main square in Spoletto
We were seated outside the main restaurant building in a big marquee, it was a bit blustery and got a bit cool but it was enjoyable. Our tale was at the end of the marque and on the wall above us they were projecting silent films - Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton - we all enjoyed it and reminisced about the films to the kids who have never seen them before
The maitre d' was an elderly gentleman who was gracious and beautifully turned out and was able to explain the menu in perfect English - the whole evening the service was smooth and amusing
It gave the whole evening quite a magical feel
The food was very good to, we had mixed starters of cheeses and salamis/ hams which were very good
My main of beef carved in into a fan was excellent just medium rare with a slight salt and rosemary crust.
One of companions had pasta with truffles and declared the best they had had, another had the pork with the pear which was also found to be excellent
The desserts included creme brulee of 2 sorts one with coffee and cardamom and the other with liquorice. Both were excellent - I really enjoyed the unusual taste of the liquorice
This restaurant is a must if you are visiting Spoletto
