The location is perfect for arriving by ferry and for early departure and also for trekking
The service was very good and friendly, and the hotel very clean
Breakfast was varied, fresh & delicious and a special effort is made to serve cappucino and croissants the guests who have to leave early (before official breakfast) on the terrace which is very nice.
Our only remark was the price and the size of the room, but this is not due to the hotel, but to the prices on Stromboli; and the fact that our bathroom window opened on to the terrace of a bar opposite

The hotel is a short walk from the ferry port which is brilliant after the overnight ferry when you are feeling a bit jaded. The staff are friendly and helpful although make sure you have some Italian/Spanish/French as English was a little limited although that didn't impact our stay. We were given pastries and juice and our luggage was stored away while we waited until midday for our room as advised, it was a welcome touch to have the food and we went to explore for the morning and organise our climb up to the crater. We met some lovely people and found all the locals very welcoming. We loved Stromboli and wish we had gone for longer, we didn't think there would be much else to do but the crater climb but it's actually a beautiful island and we intend to go back for a week as soon as we can. It feels really unspoilt and not over populated. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay but if you are going for a week it may be better to consider one of the apartments away from the port just so that you are really able to enjoy the total peace and relaxation that exists on the island.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the sea which was lovely although you are on the main road, such as it is! Just means slightly more noise during the day than if you are at the back.

Look - if you go to a tiny remote volcano you shouldn't expect 5* city hotel facilities. There is enough of a challenge to get water, let alone "spas and Turkish baths". I visited Stromboli in 1969 and there were no facilities on the island at all - no dock, no ferry, no mains electricity - and a population of 300. It's great to see that there are very acceptable facilities for tourists, including a number of respectable restaurants.
The hotel was clean and our room had a massive balcony/terrace overlooking the sea. The beds weren't the most comfortable but everything you needed was there. The staff helped us to get the best out of volcano watching despite the bad weather. The location is ideal, being only 100m from the ferry and of course you can walk everywhere.

Room Tip: Get a room at the front - gives you a sea view.

The hotel advertises it has a thermal pool and Turkish bath. However it is only available between 4pm and 5pm and you need to book to use it by 1245. If you intend to climb to top of the volcano (which is highly recommended) and are only staying one night then the thermal spring is not available to you. From the outset the staff were disinterested in providing service. The room had a great view of the water but the bathroom was tiny. The breakfast consisted of cold coffee although the pastry was tasty. Definitely not worth the price. The Internet in the hotel is very slow and often drops out. Internet service on other. Islands was very high speed. Would recommend going to Stromboli but find somewhere else to stay.

    Room Tip: Find another hotel

Stayed for one night to do hike up the volcano. Staff were rude and unhelpful on multiple accounts. When the coffee ran out at breakfast and 5 or 6 people requested if it could be refilled the girl was very dismissive and demonstrated for each person that small drips could still come out of the container and so she wouldn't refill it.. it was also cold. Staff would not allow you to drink in the lobby room, even water. Staff would direct you to the toilet without giving you the key and look annoyed when you asked for the key. Internet is incredibly slow and basically doesn't work. It doesn't work at all in the rooms. They advertise the use of their thermal spa facilities but in reality these are only open for 1 hour (4-5pm) which means anyone doing the hike can't use and.. and they are not in the hotel. Rooms were also very noisy with noise both from street outside and from other rooms. It was very overpriced for what was provided. Rooms were clean but that is all i can say for the hotel.

When we arrived at the port there were lots workers from other hotels standing around advertising their accommodation so i wouldn't necessarily recommend booking anywhere before coming. If you would rather book ahead, i would recommend NOT booking here

    Room Tip: Book another hotel.
