Club le Cannelle is in a beautiful peaceful location. From our chalet, it was a 500m walk through woods to a secluded beach with very clean water. Our children loved the nature and enjoyed swimming in crystal clear water. From that perspective, Club le Cannelle more than lives up to prior reviews.
However, given the price - eur 1,520 for four days full board for a family of 6 - I was expecting more from the accommodation and food.
We stayed in a chalet which was fairly basic and had cold showers most days. We mentioned this to the hosts, but they were quite dismissive - although on running the water for a long time it did finally heat up.
The food was pretty awful - in particular because there was no choice whatsoever. All home cooked, but often poorly executed. A particular low was the gnocchi, which most of the guests seemed to leave untouched. The lunches were clearly economical for the hosts to prepare, and plentiful but not what the website promises. Rather than a selection of local cheese and meat promised, on 3 of the 4 days we had three containers full of cold pasta, tap water and fruit. But no meat or cheese. The breakfast was also v limited and after trying it once, 3 of our children decided to skip it since they didn't like any of the food on offer.

It is a shame because with a few changes Club le Cannelle could really be a special place. But at the moment the high cost is not merited given the basic accommodation and food provided. More
