Not much to do here at Izzilini unless you have a car or immense passion to read. Everything you will want to do will require a car unless you have brought many books. There are great places to eat and visit in Todi. The castle in Izzilini is interesting but alas it is one building supported by a couple of families who live close by. I read one review which used the word medieval, I would say that is correct.

Room tip: The stairs to upper quarters can be steep and possibly narrow, ask before booking.

Kind Mr Robert,
Thank you very much for your comment, I take occasion to explain our place: is very important for us and especially for our future guest!
What to do in Izzalini? It depends on you!!! Some times we have artists who choose our structure to find inspiration in beautiful panorama, or wants to meditate in SILENCE; here around there's a lot of NATURE where to WALK when you're bored to read! :)
But you're right: if you want to LIVE the place you must have a car, of course (we always suggest to rent a car in our info-mail sent before arrival), as people how really live here (only 60 people!). Umbria is full of little villages like Izzalini where most people live, in the COUNTRY: our typical enogastronomic speciality comes from FIELD, not from funny towns!
Usually people who come here and stay 1 week want a BASE to EXPLORE Umbria -1 hour (more or less) driving you may reach many interesting place to visit (art, cultural, enogastronomic, nature, archeological, historical.... exc...)- and a HOME where to come back to RELAX and rest, AWAY FROM TOURIST AREA, in silence and nature. Do you really want to live the umbrian PEACE? Come here, not in caothic towns!!! Check us on the Google Maps! (we never hide our position)
Best regards
Sara

Castello Izzalini Resort does not disappoint. The apartments have all modern comforts and yet retain their medieval charm. Sara, who thankfully, speaks English could not have been more helpful. She even gave us her cell phone number in case we needed help when she wasn't in the office! She arranged a wonderful trip to a local family vineyard... Cantina Peppucci in Todi....which was quite fascinating. Izzalini is a quiet village but gives easy access to Perugia, Assis, Rome. Countryside is breathtaking!

Costello Izzalini Resort is a must if you want to enjoy a quaint stay in a beautiful, old yet modernly furnished place of lodging. We only speak English but Sara that works here was exceptional. We liked her immediately. She was always patient and gracious. We traveled from here to several nearby historical cities with what can only be described as breathtaking scenes. We came in March which is the slow season and have decided that this is the best time to visit here. The ONLY drawback, and is is a small one, is that the wifi was undependable and slow. That was not enough to keep this from being our most memorable vacation ever. This is the region of Umbria. We think we got a taste of the heart of Italy. Lastly, read your welcome letter better than I did. Put "Izzalini" in your GPS and don't try to use the whole address. That will keep you from getting lost.

Unbelievable location and service. Sara was wonderful and helped us in every way possible. Although there is not many businesses in Izzalini, the surrounding countryside is filled with many different shops and days trips are extremely abundant. The apartment was very spacious, but also cozy. It was a wonderful change of pace after spending two weeks in the major cities in Italy. I would come back to Castello Izzalini if I have the chance.

My husband and I were at Castello Izzalini for the week of July 18-25. We loved it! Sara was very helpful and luckily she spoke English because our broken Italian is not good. She arranged bookings for a wine tour and also a massage for us and made herself available for contact any time we needed her if we couldn't find her at the office. The rooms are clean and have a lot of space, the kitchen is fully equipped and staying in a castle was a unique experience, the views everywhere are gorgeous! The resort itself is small but beautiful as well as the area. There's a small grocery store up the street where we bought some supplies and though they don't speak much english we managed fine and there was no fresh basil there so the owner even went up to his home garden to get some to give to us no charge, such a nice man. We bought more supplies and whatever we needed in Todi, we visited that city twice for the full day and I'd still go back for more. I wish we could've stayed longer! It's an artist retreat and I'm a painter so who knows, I may end up back there again! I'd go in a heartbeat!
