Reviewed 29 June 2010

The positives of this hotel are the excellent service (although a couple of the receptionists could learn from the rest of the staff), the friendly atmosphere, the location, the cleanliness (this includes the pool area and the beach). The enthusiasm of the animations team who organised the children's activities was infectious and Davide, who spoke a little English, was very popular with my grandson. The pool is a bit deep for young children, but with armbands the non swimmers or novice swimmers were fine. I was impressed with the level of vigilance of the lifeguards (the salvataggio) round the pool and the beach, any overexuberance by youngsters was immediately stopped. They were also very good and finding the items I had invariably left round the pool or on the beach! A little knowledge of Italian is useful here, or a phrasebook. The last reviewer mentioned the standard of the food and complained of pasta appearing on the menu regularly. Pasta will always appear on all Italian menus in the "primi" part of the meal, and we enjoyed most of the dishes. My grandson is fussy about the type of sauce on his pasta but the staff were very obliging and produce pasta with his favourite sauce (cheese and tomato!) . I do agree, however, that the fish was often overcooked and the meat sometimes tough. I don't know if we were particularly lucky, but we certainly had a varied menu with different types of meat (including calves liver which was again unfortunately overcooked). We were on half board and it was good to have the choice of eating lunch or dinner. We found the breakfast offered a very good buffet selection, we enjoyed the beautifully presented plate of fresh fruit on our table of pineapple, fresh figs, different types of melon, cherries and strawberries. The downside was that the food was a little predictable, but having regard to the fact it is quite a large hotel it is quite acceptable. In fact, a lot better than a couple of the local restaurants we ate in, but that's another review! This was our second visit, and the first with a small child, but we would all certainly return.

Beach location & swimming pool excellent. Staff excellent. Hotel very dated but clean. We stayed on a half board basis for a week.
Only let down was the food. This definately spoiled our holiday.
The side salads were mainly lettice & far too much.
Bread was pretty rough.(possibly due to the type of flour used) as this was the same problem on a daily basis. (seemed like yesterdays bread)
Evening meal was mainly pasta in various guises.
Fish ok but poor quality.
Only meat we had was Pork on 5 x consecutive days in some form or other.
we did not expect or want Fish & chips, Burgers etc but by the 4th day we would have killed for some. The concensus speaking to 3 - 4 other couples was the presentaion seemed more important than the substance. NB: Driving in Italy is a nightmare. Too fast too close and no use of indicators. Little if any patience.
The surrounding towns are charming and well worth a visit.
Torra Canne has a liitle harbour but nothing else.

it is our first time in puglia and some of my friend sreccomended this hotel beacuse they said that the location and the fodd was the best value for money in south of italy. they were right !
we spent all day on their white sandy beach which is at the top of a bay that leads to the village of torre canne full of shopping and great bars, even a lot of amusement parks for our children. they were all day with the animation staff playing beach volley, soccer, dancing caribbean music it was great because at night they were dead and me and my wife could enjoy a relaxing dinner. Food was really genuine all day different dishes with a variety of fish and vegetables and lovely cheeses (try burrata ) that were really tempting our waiter gino was always reccomending the cheap apulia wine that could stand even french whites.
we loved especially their beach restaurant with great views of the bay and fresh seafood pasta every day.
the rooms were very brigth and with a magnificent views.
we were also helped by the reception staff with a lot of excursions in the areas especially grottaglie were they make great ceramics and ostuni a city exactly as santorini with many beautiful shops and cheap trattorias,
my firends wer really right about this hotel and we are coming this summer too.

this hootel has the best location directly on a golden sandy beach, me and my children played all day on the beach, we enjoyed also visiting the area with the trulli of alberobello, the shops of martina franca with ceramics and great designer clothes. we liked very much the beach restaurant with fresh seafood . The weather was very warm and we enjoyed many meals at night in the fishing village of torre canne.
Only i slept not very well but i think was also regarding the jet leg. we will come back next summer.
