“a mountain of colour”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

Must be the best kept garden, they even have classical music playing in the trees!
Beautiful to walk around, and kids love the flower maze.

“Beautiful, peaceful, special”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

We visited in mid April just as the tulips were in full bloom and the daffodils on the wane. Car parking opposite is free and easy, and a guided numbering system is as easy as it can be. Calming Vivaldi was playing from speakers hidden away, giving the impression there might be a music ensemble around the next corner. A gentle slope takes you up the house and fountain and spectacular views of the lake and mountains at various points. In spring sunshine this has to be one of the most calming places on earth. We ambled the marked path, taking photos all the way, and the walk probably took us a little over an hour - though it would be easy and pleasant to do three times that.

“Wonderful visit”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

Went there in early April, the perfect time to visit. Took the Navigazione Lago Mggiore boat from Stresa to Pallanza ( the boat didn't stop at Villa Taranto stop as it's still not considered in season yet). From there, it's about 3 km walk to the villa, took me about half hour. Along the way, there were a lot of beautiful houses and lake view, and the weather was perfect. So I didn't mind the walk. (no taxi, or bus from the pier, you have to walk). Once I got into the garden, it was a wonderful surprise to see so many different varieties of flowers and trees. The garden was well designed with different levels and paths. A section you can look over the lake, a spot where in between the trees you can see the mountain top covered with snow, just simply beautiful. i probably walked 6.5 mils for this visit but totally worth it.

“Stunning gardens; great restaurant”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

The gardens are magnificent and you need a half day to amble around them to get the best from them. If you need sustenance afterwards, you can have a great meal in the restaurant.
