“Great view of Maggiore Lake”
Reviewed 14 August 2014 via mobile

The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was big and spacious. Bathroom was also big and clean. Breakfast was nice with cold meat and cooked scramble egg. Staff at breakfast was very friendly. The only minus was the air-con couldn't be adjusted to make it cooler. The temperature stopped at between 21-25 degree which was still too warm for us coming back from the summer heat. Fridge wasn't cold enough. No coffee/tea in room. Overall is fine.

We stayed here in the middle or June for 3 nights. The staff here are very helpful and friendly and speak many languages.

We stayed in a 3 bed lake facing room. The bathrooms have clearly had a refurb in recent years so are modern and in good shape. The room was functional and clean and tidy.

2 small gripes

1) towels - they are the thickness of sheets/table cloths. To highlight this when we took 2 extra off the housekeeping cart my husband inadvertently took 2 bed sheets.

2) no iron in room and they won't bring one up. You have to pay for them to do. The lady wasn't in though so they let us use it but we had to walk up the rd to hotel pallanza.

The breakfast is standard European, eggs, cheese, meats. Good coffee and they do soya milk.

Well located for the ferry terminal and the restaurants on the front are all a short walk. There's also a market right out front of the hotel on Friday am. There is parking out front. White spaces are free, blue you pay 1 euro per hr. It can be a little challenging to find white spaces but apparently the hospital has white spaces and it's 5-6 min walk.

We got a 3 bed room overlooking the lake and with a balcony. Great view. But not just the location, the furnishing, staff and food at this hotel also gets a thumbs up. Free parking available a plenty near the hotel and nice small bars near by. Great for a relaxed holiday.

My first trip to Italy and I was not disappointed. This hotel and the staff were spot on. Excellent location right on the lake. Luca the receptionist was a delight to speak to and helped us on our way with our boat sightseeing trip.

I can not fault anything on this hotel.
There are a few cafe's and bistro's to choose from. Just watch the prices.

Stayed at this hotel July !8th to July23rd,Lovely hotel in a great location, right by the lake with a beautiful view of the lake, The rooms are a good size with the center rooms on the front with a small balcony ,We in fact had a room on the side of the hotel at the front which have a door opening onto a false balcony over looking the lake, The ferry stops just across the road from the Hotel , The staff at this Hotel are very friendly, and the front desk personal have a good knowledge of English, They have a good buffet breakfast set up from 7am until 9-30 am, I would return to this Hotel in a heart beat much more than the 3 stars it has ,first class Hotel well done and thank you !!!

Room Tip: Corner rooms are larger and Sunny

our first stay at lago maggiore was in this hotel, in pallanza just in front of departures of boats. we did like the most gentil staff, as we asked for a room overlooking the lake , and we were als accompagnied by our dog.
so it was a very large room , nicely decorated, very new bathroom , overlooking the lake.
we did have breakfast included,, so in the morning we found a full buffet , fruits and lovely bread.
we made a trip to the borromean islands, and did enjoy our stay,

Room Tip: we had room 603;on the first floor, 3 beds, very large and overlooking the lake

If you want to pretend that it's the late 1890's, that only poets and romantics and steam boats populate the most magnificent lake in the world then you should visit Pallanza, and in particular this hotel, fantastically located right by the landing stage from which boats depart every half hour to Maggiore's Borromean islands. Stresa may have a few more shops and bars, but Pallanza has the sunshine Stresa loses in the afternoon to Monte Mottarone and the tranquility of days gone by. It's the most beautiful resort on the Italian Lakes, better situated than even Bellagio or Limone.

We stayed for five nights with lake views, half board. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, attending carefully to all our needs. When the market came to town and parking became scarce on Friday morning, for example, we were offered a place in the garage. Our rooms were spotlessly clean with incredible views across to Baveno, Stresa and the Isola Madre. The half board supplement represented great value with an appetiser and three courses, all of them traditonal and some high points including an exquisite zucchini risotto, pistachio coated salmon and Genovese sea bass. This hotel is ideal for anyone who is looking for a complete immersion into Italian culture, whilst still retaining a cosmopolitan atmosphere given the mix of other guests and staff. It is also very good value for money.

The town of Pallanza itself is totally untouched by 20th Century architecture, it feels trapped in a bygone age and as such is simply breathtaking. In the evenings you can passagato until midnight with just the birds and the gentle lap of the water breaking the silence, the town becomes virtually pedestrianised after 8.00pm. I have been travelling to Lago di Maggiore for 30 years, stayed in Lesa, Belgirate, Baveno and Suna on previous holidays, all of them marvellous in their own way but none of them as delightful as Pallanza, it truly is the jewel in the crown of Lago di Maggiore, and the Italian Lakes in general. For another out of this world (and time) expereince be sure to visit Orta San Guilio on Lake Orta. The town is dictionary definition romantic.

Will definitely be staying again in the future and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to all types of traveller, thy hotel catered for families, elderly guests and young couples alike, as you'd expect in Italy. A first class stay on Lago di Magnifico!

Room Tip: Book a lake view, it's well worth the supplement.
