“Well worn seaside path, activated and engaging.”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

Counting the times, at least one hundred biking up and down this five mile path from Lido di Camaiore to the old pier in Viareggio. It's very different every time, but you begin to spot locals because their characteristic features are highly prominent. My favorite aspect of this stretch of seaside (besides the sea) is the Liberty Style architecture exhibited. The only thing I would change about this place is to have a multitude of musicians busking because I miss the music from where I come from especially the high quality jazz. Look out for people watchers and posers around every palm tree. Leave your demure side at home if you go out here especially at night during the summer. It is a veritable peacock parade!

“great escape from the city heat and 20 minutes from carrara”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

I recently reviewed carrara visiting cave di mario tours. A graet day trip involves going to the marmo tour first( there are usual two times-one in the morning around or 10 and the second tour around 2pm). If you take the second tour in the afternoon and then around 5:30 or six go to viareggio. Its a 20 min drive and parking(paid by meter around 1euro per hour) is along the main passagiata. The food is not expensive, the shops are great and the water is crystal clear.

“Nice walk after a morning at the beach”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

We stayed at the Bagno Amelia and enjoyed the beach morning and the bar. Then a beautiful walk through the passeggiata. Wonderful mountain views. Viareggio is worth the trip... enjoyed it and we will be back.

“Overrated”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

The hald-end (port) of the passeggiata is overrated, with some drab places, often dirty.
It is a real shame because the set up has much to offer, including the "molo" (pier) walk.
Far too many immigrants trying to sell you whatever fake products they might have and few of those annoying Asian propping ejecting stupid planes into the air to tempt children.
If you want to walk in the passeggiata either do it from the square (Piazza Mazzini) to north or go on the port/pier way.
