i start by saying that i disagree with some of the comments ,made by some of the reviewers, about the rating of this hotel
ITS definetly A 5 star .. I WOULD ACTUALLY DESCRIBE IT MORE AS A "holiday resort" soooo..its unfair to compare it to "the RITZ ",or other 5 star "day to day hotels,THAT ARE OPENED ALL YEAR ROUND...
i had a week here with my family and we all had a great time...a 5 star time
the few comments that i am going to make ,in no way reflect on the experience in a negative way..so...great service on arrival ,and very helpful and cordial staff at hand to guide us to our rooms...the deco of the rooms is a touch dated but unless you are looking for something to moan about ,or spend one whole week in the room ,you wont notice.
pool and beach are at hand and are quite impressive..pool area has a plunge pool ,a massage pool ,a baby pool and normal pool.,,and as a family oriented hotel, thank god they let children play in the pool FREELY...so. the pool area has.more than enough for every need ,and if you have kids that want mo,re than the pool, the animation guys will take care of them too so you can enjoy some free time ( the guys and girls are just fab ,they arrange games and tournments so kids are always busy ).....i agree with the gentlemen that made a comment about the lack of free WIFI in the rooms...it should be made available at no extra cost and reach every room.
As far as the restaurant is concerned ,the breakfast had an immense buffet ,with anything you may wish for ,to help you to start the day ..no eggs and bacon i am afraid but who needs it with 5 course lunch just around the corner?
i agree with the other guest in regards to the food...food is good ,presentation is great ,but you are italy , in puglia to be exact and you would expect "passion and soul" in every dish ..something you find in the buffet and in the beautiful cakes made by Vincenzo....also
table service could be better for 5 star ..the waiters could be a little more "attentive" and professionals ,,,but these few negative and easy to fix points, dont hinder at all, on your enjoyable stay.
and then ,while you wait for the waiter to bring you the spoon for your soup (that he has forgotten to bring, along with the soup) ,you enjoy the music from the brilliant piano player ,that every night accompany your meal with a touch of class .
and by the time you end up by the pool , late in the evening ,having a brandy by the piano bar and enjoying its " chill out" music, you let the evening come to a close...only to start it all over again the day after...its a tough life...
GREAT GREAT HOLIDAY and good value for money ...i got a feeling i will be going back

ciao Pino ..great to meet you...

My wife and I are currently touring Italy by car and recently stayed in this delightful hotel.
On arrival we were met at the door by Pino the General Manager. His warm smile and friendliness set the tone for a delightful stay.
It is obvious to us all the staff at this hotel are customer focused and we wish to thank each and every one for making our stay enjoyable.
The hotel is superbly located in its own grounds and enjoys its own private beach and swimming pool complex.
Our room was a junior suite having double aspect balconies overlooking the beach, pool and down the coast.
Food was excellent, well presented and served by Antonio who made each meal a small adventure.
I am a retired director of a FTSE100 company, I have travelled around the world and stayed in some of the best hotels, this hotel compares favourably with them all.
Thank you very much to all concerned.
Peter M Richardson.

Room Tip: Suites have superb views overlooking the beach, pool and the Vieste harbour.

Dear Mrs. Lesley and Mr. John Richardson,
what can we say about your review and the expressions of esteem and sympathy in our regards? A big THANK YOU is quite not enough when compared to your beautiful words which, in addition to having filled us with joy, gratify and encourage us to do our best, in order to offer all guests the best service. Be always successful, we know, it is not easy but the commitment and the passion for our work, stimulate and motivate us to do always more.
Thank you Dear Mrs. and Mr. Richardson, confident and hopeful to have once again the opportunity to express you our best "Welcome back"!

If you want the best beach property near Vieste combined with a beautiful pool and very professional and accommodating service, go to Pizzomunno. However, consider the rooms that are rather spartan: no extra pillows or blankets, one tooth-brush glass for two guests, cheap plastic balcony furniture, a minibar without any glasses for the drink, not even a pen was provided in the room. The restaurant serves excellent food, served by highly trained and professional personnel, but the venue is just a notch better than a high-school cafeteria: a large noisy hall with barely any decor or sound muffling structures (the piano player was a nice feature, but we could not hear him through the noise). The atmosphere was a bit rushed, as others said before us. A reviewer before us also noted that this hotel is not a 5 star quality, but we thought his/her opinion may have been based on North-american snobbery. Not so. We stayed in many Italian hotels ranging from 3 to 5 stars and we find that Pizzomunno would find it very hard to compete with many 4 star hotels, Pizzomunno's rooms may not even cut it at the 3 star level. However, the beach and the kindness and proficiency of the the staff is beyond reproach.

The 5 star rating for Pizzomunno is very misleading, so we were a bit disappointed.

Good points:
-The location is perfect: across the street from their beach, and within walking distance of old town Vieste.
-And their beach was lovely.
-The hotel pool was also beautiful (but unheated).

The room was adequate, if dated, but the dated furnishings didn't bother us. However, these were our gripes:

-the matress hung off the bed frame on each side. Not so great for sleep.
-the restaurant food was very good, but quite expensive compared to the rest of town. Plus, at 21:30, we felt definite pressure from the staff to hurry up and finish our meal--definitely not 5 star service. We felt the same pressure at breakfast.
-at the beach, we were scolded because we expected new beach towels for day 2 (we returned them at the end of day 1). We were told we had to keep our towels for the week. How were we supposed to know that? And again, for 5 star, I expect fresh towels.
-the wireless was weak--when it actually worked.

That said, the price was reasonable. By North American standards, this is a good 3 star hotel. If you expect 3 star, you won't be disappointed.
