“Perfect location in the Old Town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014

We spent just 1 night in Vieste, while we travelled around the Gargano Peninsula and we were so pleased we stayed in Vieste rather than Peschini. Vieste has a lovely atmospheric old town and Hotel Seggio was perfect for a short stay, as it is right in the old town on a pedestrianized street, so you can't park outside the hotel. The GPS got as close as we could get to Via Veste, we saw the hotel sign in the square, parked the car and walked the 200metres to the hotel - they had a room available and they suggested a free place to park, close by. We paid 100E's for a sea view room which was spotlessly clean, had the typical tiled floor, a comfortable king size bed, a wardrobe, bar fridge and small desk area with a little balcony with lovely sea views. All very basic but good for a 1 night stay. The bathroom is tiny but adequate and they supplied the basic toiletries and soap. There is a large swimming pool and access to the sea for swimming at the bottom of the cliff. There is also a small basic gym area overlooking the sea.Breakfast was excellent European fare - cheese, ham, breads, cakes, pastries, tinned fruit and surprisingly good coffee from a Nescafe machine. Receptionist spoke good English and gave a good recommendation for Dinner - Osteria al Duomo - really nice fish and English speaking sommelier. There is also a great Bar overlooking the sea on Piazza Seggio, just down hill from the hotel called Wine Bar Carpenter - much nicer atmosphere than the noisy and expensive touristy places on Via Pola, which you will pass, going to the Hotel Parking.
We are not in Italy to visit the beaches (Australia has much better beaches) so if you want to stay in the old part of town, close to good restaurants and shops then this is a good location for a night or two.

What a delightful and quaint city and hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in the future for a longer stay. The entire town was quiet and friendly. We took a boat ride in and out of the caverns, which gave us numerous WOW moments. Definitely an experience no one should miss. Enjoyed the best Gelato we had the whole trip. The feral cats and kittens were even entertaining and many of our fellow travelers enjoyed swimming in the protected water below the hotel. A cooking demonstration was fun, however the mackerel served was a little too strong for my taste. We definitely enjoyed one of the best rooms in the Hotel with a large balcony and fantastic views of the sea.

We enjoyed our 3-day stay at this hotel in early October. The staff were welcoming and very helpful, the hotel was generally comfortable, well kept, and supplied a very good buffet breakfast. The room and the bathroom were both reasonably sized although the shower cubicle was small (not uncommon in Italy). There were good views from the room with its balcony: it is worth getting a room with sea view.
It's in a good location for exploring old Vieste, which is charming with its narrow alleyways. There are numerous restaurants close at hand, including Al Duomo and Al Dragone.
One problem is parking: the only places are some 150 metres from the hotel. The hotel does have garage parking but it wasn't available when we stayed. The restaurant and pool were also closed after the end of September.

Room Tip: Get a room with a sea view if possible.

This was a delightful hotel located on a cliff in a beautiful town on the Adriatic coast. Its prime attraction may be that it has its own private beach, which is accessed by taking a hotel elevator down severals levels; it is set up with comfortable, colorful chaise lounges and umbrellas. In Sept. the water was still comfortably warm. If you don't want to wade into the sea water, there is also a private swimming pool. It appears that most of the hotel was recently renovated to high standards. We had a very comfortable town-facing room with a king bed and large, modern bathroom. Even though we faced the town on a busy pedestrian walkway, the windows when closed blocked almost all noise. A couple with whom we were traveling had a room facing the sea coast with a wonderful balcony and spectacular view. The breakfast was a typical Italian continental one, but unfortunately with an automated coffee machine with poor coffee.

Room Tip: Because there are several types of rooms, ask for the details on each.

Ideal location in the old town with its own private beach and small pool. The water is shallow for some way out and is sheltered with two breakwaters. Life guard on duty..lift and stairs down to
the beach. Free parking a little way from the hotel up by the church. The two top rated restaurants on trip advisor are very close, one at the top of the road and one at the bottom..free wi Fi. Nice continental breakfast. Rooms are cleaned every day.small cafe and fridge in the room. Staff are nice and the girl at reception speaks good English. Worth paying the little extra for room with balcony and a view overlooking the sea. The sun rises and warms your day ready for you to relax the rest.

An older hotel with typical small showers. Some of the rooms have a sea view. The owner does not allow any food or drinks into your room if it is not bought in his hotel. Nice breakfast, cappuccinos are dispensed via a machine. House wine is on the tart side.

Room Tip: Get a sea view

Not that bad but the hotel is very old hotel and had a bad odor from bathroom. Location was excellent and rooms were clean along with the staff- they are very friendly andhelpful but it needs some updating. Nice breakfast buffet.

Room Tip: Very nice location
