First thing is this hotel never comes up on the trip advisor search for available dates because you need to contact the guest house. We were a couple and a baby staying the garden room for 11 nights in May 2014. The place is beautiful and about 15-20 mins stroll to the nearest beach. The breakfast was good (but no hot items e.g. omlettes) and the breakfast terrace had a great view. When booking I had to do a bank transfer of the deposit (1/3rd).

My wife and I stayed in the garden room over the May bank holiday and it was lovely. The hotel is on side of a hill and has great views of the sea and end of the town. The fittings throughout are all high spec and the bathroom is huge and luxurious. The breakfast was served till 11 on the small terrace looking towards the sea and it was all served with a smile.
I would suggest that you have a car if you go to this resort so you can get to the local beaches which are stunning. Great place to stay for couples.

My wife and I spent 5 nights at Domu Simius Guest House in a standard room (Room 25) in the first week of September.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the service was really good and the general appearance of the guest house was contemporary and immaculately kept. The facilities are really good for a guest house - as well as a small pool and a jacuzzi there are loungers on the terraced roof as well as a gazebo with an outside seating area. Inside, there is a communal lounge (that doesn't seem to get used much), an indoor dining room (that only appears to be used to host breakfast in bad weather), and an underground car park with a lift.

Each morning we had a lovey breakfast on the terrace with a view of the sea. The breakfast is typically continental, it's really well presented and has the added bonus of delicious home-made pastries and cakes, plus a nice range of cereals, yogurts, fruit and cold meats and cheeses.

Our room was just off the lounge area and as it was a standard room doesn't come with a sea view with limited natural light. However, this wasn't really an issue for us, we knew what we had signed up for and the room was spacious enough with a adjoining corridor that led to a great en-suite bath/shower room - the shower was fantastic and my wife was relieved to find a good hair dryer and nice toiletries. The bedroom area was very well lit and decked out with TV, Skybox, mini-bar and fitted wardrobes and a small safe. It also had really effective (and quiet) aircon that we kept on most of the time.

It's worth mentioning that the guest house is strangely configured - it was obviously built as a house and converted. This isn't necessarily a problem but it did mean that in the corridor linking our bedroom and bathroom we could hear guests in the next door room. This wasn't actually a problem for us as with the door shut in the bedroom we couldn't hear anything but we did hear that other guests had similar issues with hearing noise from other areas of the guest house from inside their rooms. As for noise from outside of the hotel, I saw one other review that mentions loud bars nearby. I find this very hard to understand as we saw no evidence off this - Villasimius is not a loud party town and there are no bars close enough to the guest house that would likely cause disturbance.

The reason we have decided to rank the guest house quite so highly is threefold:

First, the location is fantastic - close enough to the centre of the town to make restaurants and bars easily walkable but far enough away to make it quiet and relaxing. The views from the hotel are great and offer a panoramic view of the town and a view of the sea.

Second, the service really was good. Although the owners aren't completely fluent in English they know enough to be helpful and they really are extremely courteous and eager to please. Michele in particular was really accommodating and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. For example, the guest house has an electric car he let us borrow for an hour - great fun if you get the chance!

Finally, the level of finish in the hotel is brilliant - it feels like you are staying in a show home - bright, clean and modern.

We found it very hard to know where to stay in Villlasimius - there are some nice looking places - but in the end we were really pleased with our choice. It exceeded our expectations and we felt it offered really good value for money.

Room Tip: Garage is on the bottom floor, three rooms on the next floor up, four rooms (1 with sea view and bal...

From the 'Furstein' piano, 'Kruger' lighting fixtures, 'Arthur Krupp' cutlery you notice that a lot of attention to providing the highest quality has been given to every little aspect of Domu Simius guest house. We stayed in the 'Standard' room which was spacious and the combination of wood flooring and stone walls gave it a warm feel. It has a fantastic wet room and access directly to the living room and Garden so it actually provides great flow to the outside and inside communal spaces. In terms of location it is easy to find and well signposted but it may be best to have a car. Domu Simius is at the top of two steep hills and there is a secure garage with a lift to the property inside. The breakfast on the terrace served from 8-10am was just wonderful watching the panoramic views out to Simius beach which is a scenic 10 minute walk away. There is a supermarket, post office, restaurants etc within 5 minute walk and there is no noisy bar nearby, it's a residential area at the top of two hills. Our visit to Villasimius was wonderful, a different beach everyday and walking the street markets at night. Domu Simius was the perfect base to explore and relax in the lap of luxury. I would return in a heartbeat and recommend it highly.

We just returned home after a delightful stay at the Domu Simius. Michele was a charming and friendly host, always ready to help with local information. The pool and sundeck with a view of the sea are a wonderful place to further unwind following a relaxing day at one of Villasimius' beautiful beaches. Breakfast was small and elegant, and of high quality: fresh squeezed orange juice, yogurts, cheese, meats, bread, local pastries and usually a delicious different cake every morning.

During our stay we had 2 different rooms as there was not one available for our entire stay. We spent the first nights in the Executive Room, which we would highly recommend. The room is very private despite its proximity to the pool and breakfast room and the photos on the Domu Simius website of the beautiful modern bathroom are of this room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the guesthouse as we were in this room. However, we spent 2 nights in a Standard Room at the end of our stay, and although the price for the room is a lot less expensive than the executive, we were quite unimpressed with the standard in comparison to the other room. The room was quite dark, with only one window overlooking the walkway where people come into the hotel, so we kept the curtain closed for privacy. The bathroom was also a big disappointment, with a tiny old shower and toilet that needed a bit of coaxing to flush...all in all, in comparison to the Executive room, I would call this room Sub-standard, not Standard and wouldn't recommend a stay in this room at all. Unfortunately, although the house is quite new, the architecture is a little strange and leads to the rooms having a bit strange layout, which is probably the biggest problem with this room. if it had a newer glitzier bathroom, maybe it would help the appeal, but still not the feeling that we were in a basement, even though it wasn't in the basement at all.

I didn't have a chance to visit all the rooms, but I would have also been disappointed to have the deluxe room that backs onto the breakfast terrace. This room has a nice terrace with views of the ocean, but only a see-through wooden trellis divides this "private" terrace from the breakfast terrace, so I don't understand why they don't at least put up a real privacy screen, this would make the room a lot more desirable. I think the hotel should also post pictures of all the rooms so that guests can decide for themselves if they like the standard of room before they come. Most of the photos on the website are only of the Executive and Deluxe Rooms, which is not at all indicative of the other rooms.

As for accounts by other reviews about noise, this was no problem at our stay, and I can't imagine what they were talking about as there are no bars in this area, as it is strictly residential. The house is a very comfortable 5 min downhill walk into town.

We would definitely return to the Domu Simius, but only as a guest in the Executive or Deluxe Rooms.

This is not a guest house but more a small high class hotel, rooms, facilities, pool, views everything is nice and thought through! Well done!
The only thing you don't have is the B&B feel, the staff is polite and effective but this structure has no soul, and is 100% business oriented, and you can feel it. Having said that this place is nice and breakfast are good,it is worth the money as all accomodations are so expensive in Vilassimius and certainly not as good as this place!regarding the location, if you like quiet nights, don't go there as it is located next to bars potentially playing music quite late..

Room Tip: Don't hesitate to spend a bit more for a room with sea view and terrace, the rooms without views...

We stayed for about 5 days at the start of June and really liked the place first. It's very clean and modern and bright and cosy. We were able to check in at 1:30 am which is great effort from the staff. There is a little pool and garden to hang out and deck and living room. Our balcony had sea views and everything was great. However, the breakfast was served just above our room and we
woke up every morning by people preparing breakfast and then by guests moving chairs etc. Breakfast is not that great either by they way, not the worst but you get quite bored of it after the second day. Despite all this, I would stay again BUT then one Friday one bar (Matteo 77) had a party on their balcony, this is about 500 m away from the B&B. Their speakers faced the street and the music was so loud we didn't even hear our TV or could sleep. We have asked them a few times very politely to turn it down but they wouldn't. The music was heard in the whole area of this town and at 1:30 am we asked again if they could turn it down and the violent owner took my partner inside the bar and assaulted him. After this the music was turned off, until Saturday so it was super loud again. This is reason enough for me not to stay there again, we planned to get up early to do some hikes but if you are planning to go out in town anyway, then this B&B is great for you.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the street, I think those rooms won't have sea views or a balcony but...
