“wonderful resort not a far drive from Cagliari Airport”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

I surprised my husband for his birthday and booked this resort after seeing great reviews on Trip Advisor. Upon our arrival, it did not disappoint. It was situated off the main road, tucked into the hills, with very beautiful grounds. We walked in to a warm reception by the staff, even though it was close to 10 pm. We were given an upgrade to a sea view room, which was a nice bonus. The day bed in our room was a pleasant surprise. The room was very spacious, nicely appointed, and with a very large bathroom and balcony.

We chose the bed & breakfast option, which was fantastic and just what we needed to start the day. There was a beautiful pool area just off the breakfast room (great view while eating breakfast), and another below, but it was too cold to take a dip (the weather, not necessarily the water!). We had great recommendations from the staff on activities and restaurants to eat at locally. We enjoyed the place Santa Maria (or similarly named) just down the street which was recommended. Also, we took a hike just up the hill from the hotel (follow the outdoor parking lot road) which had great views...an early morning hike before breakfast. And also did the Cape Cabonara hike - the pictures we took of the view are beyond amazing.

Overall, it was a wonderfully relaxing stay, and we enjoyed the resort immensely. We were there for 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer.

The only issues we came across at the hotel were...
1) In our room, the heating would turn on automatically when the lights came on, and we kept forgetting to turn it off (or if the automatic sensor for turning on the lights came on during the night, i.e turning over), and it could get quite warm. We couldn't turn the temp below 23C.
2) We were at the end of the hall, so the wifi signal was quite weak...but even in the lobby at times it was very weak/slow. It would be something the hotel could consider upgrading or improving.
3) The walls don't seem very soundproof - we could hear others talking. But it was no big deal for us.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few nights last month. We had a great time. Since it was off season, the place was quiet and peaceful, which was exactly what we were looking for. The staff was very helpful in finding us restaurants and were very knowledgeable about the area. The rooms were spacious and clean. Could not recommend it enough.

Stayed at the hotel recently with friends... and found the service to be 10 on 10... Everyone was very helpful and accommodating.... amenities were also top notch. Special note of thanks to Pamela V. at reception... Jumped right in to take care of the 8 rooms we had booked for our guests arriving on motorcycles.

Room Tip: Some rooms have views of the ocean to the south... all done very nicely.

Where to start as we had a wonderful few days here? First the area: it is a spectacular mix of mountains, sandy beaches, little coves and wonderful views. We encountered only a few fellow Brits (often a good sign!), most visitors seemed to be Italian or French - who obviously know a good location.

Now to Cruccuris: having booked a deluxe room we were luck enough to be upgraded to a suite. The panoramic views from the balcony and many windows were wonderful - each providing a different perspective on the changing landscape. The rest of the hotel was great too: loads of space, two great pools, beautifully kept gardens, stunning views from the restaurant, etc. Given the size of the grounds, it is to the hotel's credit it has restricted the number of bedrooms, which are scattered around the grounds, to 49. This adds to the sense of peace and tranquillity. More often than not, whether on our balcony, in the grounds or beside the pool, there was total quietness. Bliss!

We had opted for B&B and had one evening meal in the hotel, which was alright. This allowed us to explore a few of the great variety of local restaurants, some of which are in stunning locations. It obviously worked out more expensive, but if enjoy your food, can afford it and don't mind driving, we would recommend this option.

Whilst the hotel's location is an asset, it is also it's main drawback - it is a good 10 minute drive to Villasmiuis centre and there isn't anything really in walking distance (though you can hire bikes on site). We also had problems finding it, having missed the sign on the main road from Caglairy to Villasmiuis.

The reception staff were always very happy and helpful - they perhaps could give a few lessons to the restaurant/breakfast staff who tended to be less so.

We rarely decide to return to a holiday location and in particular hotel, as there is so much to see and do. However, we have every intention of breaking that rule in this case...

Room Tip: Try for bedroom with a sea/mountain view, which I believe are mainly in main building 1st floor. We...

We stayed 12 nights from late June into July, and enjoyed a lovely holiday.
The Staff at Cruccuris Resort were very special - always smiling, cheerful, and helpful.
Our superior double room was large and cool and airy, with comfortable bed and plentiful storage, and a good en-suite shower room. The generously sized wall mounted TV offered Sky News and Sky Sports and Music - plenty enough for some entertainment.
The two pools were never busy, and kept very clean - we always found sun-beds and a parasol.
We stayed half-board, and coped with poor bacon but good scrambled eggs at breakfast, but with plenty of fruit and cold meat alternatives.
Dinners were excellent, and varied - good choice each evening. Wine list was quite pricey but the local wines were very acceptable.
Live music on three evenings of our stay was good too.
Location is fine, although not easy to spot the sign for the hotel when driving from the direction of Cagliari. Villasimius is a holiday town and that sums it up - out of season it will be very quiet.
We drove 12K North to lovely beaches which we preferred to the busier local beaches.
Overall we would thoroughly recommend Cruccuris Resort to couples and families.

We stayed there for 6 nights from 5th to 11th of July 2013. We had a superior room with a balcony and sea-view, the room was large, the bed was excellent.

There are only 2 details that could be improved : the shower cabin is a standard one,we would expect a more design approach and the airco unit's lower temperature limit is set from the reception (but they agree to lower it for you if you ask). But these are 2 minor points, we had a great stay, and the room was never too warm.

The resort is very quiet, not too big. The gardens and alleys are perfectly well kept, the 2 very nice swimming pools are spotless clean, water quality is checked and monitored several times a day. There are enough longchairs and umbrellas around the 2 pools, we were always able to find a good spot although the hotel was full.

The location was perfect for us : a bit remote from the centre (only 3 to 5 min. drive and we had a rental car, so no issue) in a very quiet zone, with views on the sea and on the mountains.
The staff was very, very friendly and helpful.

We certainly recommend to book there. The price is high, but it is the same all over the place for that category in Sardegna. But the Cruccuris Resort gives you nevertheless very good value for your money and do make you feel welcome. If you read our other reviews, you’ll see that not all hotels do the same.

Cruccuris is a very charming hotel. It's well located, has good facilities, kind and helpful service. A place to have a good, relaxing time. During our stay, there were mainly couples, so it was very romantic and pleasant.
If you book, make sure you will have a car. This way, you will be able to drive around and visit other beaches nearby.
Cruccuris has a partner hotel, located in front of the beach. For 15EUR per person, you can have a chaise and parasols. They have great food there and the service is equally great.
We booked half board and were extremely satisfied with a carefully planned menu and the delicious food and desserts. I am glad we chose Cruccuris. It is certainly where we will go when we visit Sardinia again.
