This fabulous family run hotel and restaurant must be the best in Tuscany. The service is mainly done by two sisters Irma and Sandra who are fluent English speaking as well as other languages and are always warm and welcoming. The food is superb with classic starters and main courses as well as some slightly different fare. The wine is wonderful and extensive and a very good bottle of local Tuscan wine can be bought for less than €15 and the total cost of a wonderful meal for €60-70. This is a superb restaurant well worth a visit. We will be back.

We have visited this excellent Tuscan restaurant many times over the last three years and have also stayed in the hotel from time-to-time. It has been simply wonderful on every occasion we have been there. It is family-run, friendly and well-located for the main tourist sites. Pisa airport is 45 minutes drive, Volterra about 15 minutes away and San Gimignano about 25 minutes. Florence and Sienna are each just over an hour's drive. The restaurant serves freshly-prepared traditional Tuscan food, and is an absolute delight. The wine list is extensive and the atmosphere - whether outside in the summer or inside in the cooler months - makes the whole experience superb and unforgettable. Not to be missed, and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

We have visited this wonderful restaurant many times over the last 6 years and it just gets better each time. The staff are welcoming and manage the various languages better than our Italian. The food is typical simple Tuscan Fayre cooked to perfection. There is a great choice of food. The wine list is extensive and we have usually asked Irma to choose for us and have never been disappointed. There are rooms to stay which we have never tried but I expect that they are wonderful like the restaurant. If you are visiting Tuscany especially if you are near to Volterra or San Gimignano this is a must to visit. It is our favourite restaurant in the World.

This restaurant is easily one of the best in the area. We visit it several times a year and always go on Christmas Day for the 12 course Christmas Dinner which is freshly cooked and served and very very reasonably priced. This place is family run and all meals are cooked to order. You cannot visit this part of Tuscany and not visit this place because you would miss a superb experience. The surroundings are typically Tuscan to make your visit complete.

This was one of our favorite meals during our 14 day travels through Tuscany. We stayed at the hotel and had read that a meal in the garden was a must-do. We were not disappointed. We split a bottle of local red "Intensivo" per our servers recommendation and with we could have taken a few bottles home with us. Other highlights included the antipasti misti, local stew of wild boar ragu, ravioli with ricotta, walnuts and truffles, and digestivo of limoncello and accompanying almond pastries. The atmosphere with the lights and candles was positively enchanting and the many conversations in Italian at neighboring tables confirmed that this was a favorite with locals as billed. We'd return and recommend 100%.
