Our family was quite nervous about trying a Volterra town restaurant after a previous bad experience, however as soon as we walked in we were made welcome and it was clear that this would be different. The menu is good honest food that fills the bellies of everyday folk and leaves the gastronomes twiddling their moustaches and comparing notes. It's not posh, it's just good food. Every member of my family ordered something different and cleared their plate. The bill was comparable to those we have paid for lunch in the past: 48 euros for 4 people including sides and drinks. The owner (manager?) was friendly, smiling and helpful. We saw him serve German, French and English people with equal attentiveness and courtesy. He shook all our hands as we left and made us feel valued as customers. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates great service and understands that good value doesn't mean poor quality.
