“Great atmosphere”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 via mobile

Paolo the owner went out of his way to make sure our group was well taken care of. Good choice of wine and excellent pizza. Highly recommended.

“Great meal great atmosphere”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Dined here last night while on a holiday to Tuscany staying in the Volterra area seven of us went to dinner and had an excellent meal.
I had the wild boar for main and it was yummy (yes a technical term) the flavour of the meat and the sauce was very rich but it was balanced with the polenta and the grilled selection of vegetables that along made this a perfect meal. The service was un rushed there was time to talk between courses.
If you are looking for silver service you won't find it here what you will find is good food served in a friendly atmosphere. Although between us we spoke no Italian and the waiter had very limited English we had no problem ordering. When we got the bill it was very reasonable priced also as we had two dottles of the local wine called Altered Ego. That was also fantastic as we are renting a small house from the wine maker.
We are staying in the region for two weeks and shall by going there again

“Wonderful!”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

Enjoyed one of the best lunches we have had in Tuscany. A family run affair that does not disappoint! The Tuscan vegetable-bread soup, ravioli with truffles are well worth another cold, rainy drive to Volterra.

“Our favourite restaurant in Volterra”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

Friendly staff, great food and excellent atmosphere, our children (and ourselves) returned to the restaurant for the second time, although we never do that when we travel.
Our youngest son was impressed by Paulo and kept asking to return.
Very tasty food and great wine persuaded us to return again and would return for the third time if our journey did not come to an end.
We honestly recommend the place.

“Excellent food & service”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

During our one-week stay in Tuscany this Easter we went to Paolo's restaurant twice and were served fantastic antipasto and delicious second dishes (eg Penne al'etruschi) by the owner, who even took time to inform us of recipes, the sights of the district and many other things. Also his Tiramisu is tasty.
