Bioagriturismo Orgiaglia
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Orgiaglia is a truly wonderful place to stay. If you are Italian you will experience traditional Italian family hospitality at its best. If you are not Italian you will become embraced in a real Italian way of life and be transported away from your normal everyday routine by becoming absorbed in warm Italian hospitality, wonderful authentic Italian food, first class chianti wine and friendship beyond belief. You can switch off and totally relax either by the pool, horse riding, tennis or walking in the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

Accommodation choices range from a bedroom in the house or outside the house with outside seating all have en-suite and are spotlessly clean. You can choose from full board, half board, or self catering.

Orgiaglia is very central for exploring the beautiful Tuscan towns of Sienna, San Gimignano, Volterra etc.

I have stayed here many times over the years with my family and have some wonderful memories I can honestly recommend Orgiaglia as a wonderful place to stay.

I have lost count of the number of times I have been to Orgiaglia. It is always wonderful. The rooms are very comfortable and clean with on-suite facility. The food is first class, Franco is a master chef. The pasta dishes the bistecca alla fiorentina and chianti wine are to die for and truly authentic. Anyone planning a trip to Italy should make sure they spend at least some nights at Orgiaglia as it is an experiance not to be missed. It is unique from any other place because you experience the traditional authentic italian family lifestyle. The Lazzari family are so hospitable and make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble, you make so many new friends from Italy and all around the world. Orgiaglia is a good location for touring around Tuscany being close to Volterra, San Gimignano, Sienna, and the Chianti wineries and the coast is not too far away either. When you don't want to go out there are some great walks, horse riding and a welcoming pool to cool of in and relax by to admire the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

We spent two nights at this farmhouse, a lovely place far away from everything else. We was upgraded from room to apartment as they had one available. The owners dont speak much english, but communications goes well in a mix of all languages :) besides, their daughter helps with booking on mail and phone- and her english is excellent. The place has a beautiful view of the hills around. If you want total silence, and a piece of local nature this is for you- but be aware that the drive is quite far when taking of from the mainroad! they have cats, a dog, horses, hens etc. and do walks with the horses. They also sell honey, oliveoil and biological creams and products that they produce themselves. We had a lovely stay here, and ate dinner at the group table outdoors with other travelers (all italian) which gave us a good feel of how an italian life can be like. We would reccomend others to stay here as well!

I recently stayed for four nights. The hosts are fabulous and the dining experiences in the evening were suburb. I probably had the best funghi risotto I will ever eat in my life one evening. The breakfasts were so-so. The place is getting somewhat rundown. I'm sure it was beautiful when it was first built many years ago. The driveway takes 20 minutes to maneuver down. It is full of pot holes. Do not stay in the section nearest the large pasture area. It is a bldg. with three separate rooms. Two of them adjoin the animal butchering room and the smell was somewhat nauseating at all times. We managed to get hot water in the shower but it always took some adjusting of on/off and turning the sink water on first.

We just end up at Orgiaglia by chance, following a road unkown to us in a "let's get lost in the Tuscan countryside" day. We just spend few hours with Franco's family and taste some Tuscan style specialities. Awesome. Truly recommendable. It was a wonderful experience that cheer us up the rest of the day. Thank you guys, you are the best,
Simo and Neus from Barcelona.
