My family and I had been in Italy for about a week when we took a trip to Volterra. After spending a nice afternoon exploring the town we were looking for a late bite to eat. We sat outside in a nice picnic table setting with other families. Some local some tourists like us. It was a quite part street that was nice to people watch without being closed in by people. The servers were friendly and attentive. We ordered one pizza to share and three or four starters. Everything we had was very good and after eating at many “tourist” restaurants in Rome and throughout Tuscany this was a nice change. The vegetables, salads and cheese were very fresh and good. To this point in our trip it was a highlight. If back in Voterra I would definitely eat here again.

The waitress was friendly. However, the pizza was not too tasty, especially when compared with other pizzas I have ever eaten. The greatest disappointment was the exorbitant bill at the end. We paid for much more than what we really ate. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.

The food, service and outdoor seating was great. But even better was the whole experience. We sat at picnic table like seating. There were many locals and an older woman and I assume her grand-daughter sat down across from us. We all had a good time as we struggled with the language barrier. The staff would join in and help with translations. This evening meal was without a doubt our favorite of the whole trip.
