“Must see. Several floors of history”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

You find there incredible artefacts. How people made things like slight & petite necklaces 2500 years ago? Looks like modern contemporary jewellery product! Interesting place to visit. It gives Y to thing ...

“OLD~is an understatement!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

We went here with our tour guide from Rick Steve's. It was great!! When they explain things to you it is so much easier to understand, we then got to spend more time on our own. I had to buy a pair of Etruscan earrings for a keepsake, and they are worth the money I spent, they will remind and bring me back to what the symbol means each time I wear them!! I am not a history buff at all, but it was very interesting to see how they did things way, way, way back then!! It is well worth the time and money to learn something. Grazie Kim

“Wealth of Etruscan artifacts”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Small, but loaded with Etruscan art, artifacts and antiquities. The Etruscans preceded the Romans and left their mark on Tuscany and Volterra in particular.

“Marvellous!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Who'd have thought funerary urns could be so endlessly fascinating?
This is a great museum, in a beautiful building. Worth doing the audio tour which points out all sorts of interesting details on the urns. Etruscans were way ahead of the Romans in terms of women's rights, that is a part of the story that is really quite enlightening.

“Beautiful golden jewellery.”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

Urns, urns and more urns, and some fabulous Etruscan jewellery. If you look at them closely, the carvings show lovely family histories. The audio guide is useful, and you have to read up about the Etruscans a bit to make it fascinating. They only have space to show a fraction of the artefacts, so goodness knows what you can't see! Well worth a visit, to steep you in even more Italian history.
