A special hotel; we had a wonderful stay at this well run hotel with a georgous swimming pool and excellent restaurant cuisine; I look forward to returning there.

We ordered our lunchtime meal, just a simple pasta dish. There was no one else eating at the time so we expected not to wait for too long. After twenty minutes off munching on dryish bread (no meal yet) four people sat by us at the next table. Within three to four minutes they had their water, wine (in a rather nice ice bucket) bread, olives etc. and within another few minutes their meal was served. It was now 30 minutes and we had had NOTHING. We then realised the people now eating were hotel staff with the boss. We walked out without a word, what an insulting experience !

We stayed at the Park for one night at both the beginning and the end of a walking holiday in Tuscany. First impressions were good - very welcoming service. The setting is stunning on a quite steep hillside just outside the centre of Volterra with the most fantastic views from the hotel rooms, terrace and the 2 pools across the Tuscan countryside. The hotel is quite new (10 year or so) and the rooms are not big but adequate. The second night we stayed we had a 'superior' room - just a bit bigger that 's all, but the views make up for everything. The service we received in the restaurant was outstanding - quite unlike other reviewers. Radvan (chef de partie) was hugely impressive. We were on half board but it was quickly pointed out to us that we could mix and match with the a la carte andjust pay the difference - and it seemed a very modest difference for food that was very enjoyable. The wine list I also found outstanding. In the morning there are not many places that give you opened and chilled bottles of prosecco so you can make your own Buck's fizz at the buffet breakfast bar. Altogether a very pleasant stay. Only 4 stars as the rooms were not particularly large or luxurious, but at least the air con worked properly.

Lovely hotel on the surface, fantastic pool and terrace area, all very clean. The views are superb. We were upgraded to a terrace room which is worth the extra. Reception staff very helpful and speak excellent English. What lets this hotel down (as previous reviewers this summer have said, and they are right) is the quality of the half board menu. In addition we found the restaurant staff, on the whole, to be demotivated. The food quality is just not of a 4 star standard. The terrace area for dinner is fabulous, so it is a terrible pity that this wonderful location is let down by the food and service.

We strongly suggest that you walk up to the charming little town of Volterra where the food and ambience is well worth the steep uphill 15 min "climb".

The hotel is modern and well situated to visit Volterra, although be prepared for a 15 minutes walk up hill from the hotel.

The reception staff were efficient and friendly, and our room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The views from our hotel room and from the hotel terrace are of rolling tuscan hills - this is the best feature of the hotel.

Breakfast buffet is served in the breakfast room, on the terrace and is extensive and well stocked, and the waiting staff were friendly.

There is a small sauna, jacuzzi and jet shower, and the infinity pool has a good choice of loungers and chairs.

The hotel is let down by its restaurant, which we felt was pretentious (relying possibly on the views from the terrace for its reputation?). The wine list while long was over priced (min. €25 for a bottle), and having eaten at other Tuscan hotel restaurants in the previous week we knew that there are very good value wines available. The hotel does have a house wine if you ask - this is not listed on the wine list. We stayed half board and felt that the special "half board menu" and the service given to half board guests was not to the standard that we had experienced elsewhere in the region. So would recommend the hotel on a B&B basis only.
