At first we were disappointed that this hotel was so far out of town (although there were some visitors who walked into town, it is a steep climb) but it did have the advantage of easy parking for the night. The room was a little disappointing as well with rather out of date drapes and covers but it had a lovely bathroom. And everything was clean -- and we had the most delicious breakfast on our 3 week trip. Fabulous baked goods, fresh jams and a wonderful view over the countryside. If I had to do it over I might still prefer to have stayed inside the old city walls or at least closer, but we drove in for dinner and spent the whole next day parked on a side street, so in the end, this hotel was just fine for us and we had absolutely no complaints. It is run by a mother and son and Luca carried my bags up for me (second floor) and is very very nice and helpful. It would be a great place for a family in the summer with the beautiful swimming pool and outdoor area.
